Will it be any good/halfway accurate or will I be wasting my time?

The biggest drawback I see is that unlike the ones with a chest-strap, which monitor HR continuously, this one does a start-stop/elapsed-time calculation. But it does modify the maths for age/weight/gender, which is an improvement.

So, and purely my 2c worth, it wouldn't be AS accurate, but it would give you something you can work with. And at the price, it's probably worth a punt.
