i try to get in 8, but its more like 6max. studying, working and training is unforgiving.

gotta do what ya gotta do tho huh.

are you having trouble sleeping? or not getting enough time to sleep?

i occasionally need some herbal sleeping shit to knock me out. called REM SLEEP. does the job.

No idea how you can go with so little sleep :/

I feel like crap if i dont get 8 hours. The night after a big workout i need 9-10 hours.

It must be effecting your recovery quite a bit, but seem your always sleeping like that you haven't noticed?

I just cant sleep till around 3-4am.and waking up around 8am.dont feel tired at all, just feels normal.i tried sleeping in,but couldnt. are the REM stuff made from passionfruit extract of something along those lines? i might consider hittting up the doctors for some stronger stuff.

yeah, def affecting recovery a little, and that seems to be the main concern for me. i dont feel tired or worn down at all, which is a bit weird.and my strength has been good. lost a little mass too.

part of it is just resetting your bodyclock. the last thing you need is to become relyant on sleeping pills.

so if you do get something stronger take them safely with the understanding of not relying on them.

ummm its got 270mg of passion flower extract, among other.

sounds like you got the same shit i do.

def hit up the docs or pharmacy for something tho.

sleep disorders are cruel as f*ck.

its not like you can take a sick day cos you only had 2 hours sleep aye.

hope you sort it.

I get a max of 8, usually 7 though. Can't often get to sleep before midnight, and I wake up around 7am each morning. My recovery periods aren't too bad and I tend to catch up on sleep on the weekends, I just find the slight lack of sleep noticeable on days where I've expended a lot of energy and my body needs to recuperate - i.e today with a heavy back session, boxing class this evening, 9-10 hours at work, and a bit over an hour on the train commuting (aka the 35mins or so period each way I struggle not to drift off ).

Feeling quite tired now after getting home from boxing, but I like to get some "me" time in at nights - tonight I have the replay of the Valuev vs Haye fight ready to watch  \:D/

Doubt you even want my input (....i'm not exactly normal :shifty: ) But 4 or so hours a night is natural for me.

During peak-uni period that dwindled down to 2-3 which after a few months began to take its toll.

I admit i'm strange but then I have on good authority that some people do just need less sleep than others, its not 'unhealthy' as such if it doesn't detrimentally affect you, so i wouldn't worry too much.

I've always been a creature of the night, and combined with 11 years working security at night, I got used to an everage of about 4hrs per night, sometimes as little as 2hrs between shifts. Every now and then I'd have a bit of a crash and do 8 hrs to catch up, maybe once a month.

Now I have sole care of my kids and can't sleep during the day, but still find that I'm largely nocturnal. Since finding out that I need to sleep more while training, I make a conscious effort to try for about 6 hrs per night.

As for prescription sleeping pills, be aware that some (possibly most) don't actually give you quality sleep, they just knock you out. Kinda the chemical equivalent of a mallet to the cranium. What your body requires during sleep is full regular sleep cycles, including REM, which is suppressed by certain sleeping medications. Just check with your GP before getting the prescription.

On a side-note, overhead some great broscience at the gym today, with one guy advising another to make sure he didn't sleep too much or he'd sacrifice muscle growth. Something to do with the muscles wasting away while they were being rested too much during sleep :pfft: :pfft:
