Make shift pulley weights?

Hi Guys and girls.

Any ideas for make shift pulley weights?

I'm getting real tired of unscrewing and rescrewing the bolts holding on my plates when increasing weight through a set and then just forget about drop setting  Plus you know the usual lack of weights in general  let alone the fact I have to share the few plates I do have accros the bar, the dumbs and my pulley rack. I waste more time moving weights to and from apperatis than actually lifting I think!

I need something to take the plates place on the pulley but obviously needs to be strong enough to take a bit of a hammering, ie the odd drop. I've thought of water bottles and things similar but everything I think of seems a little weak and brittle.

Would utimatley like 10 and 20kilo increments? (don't know many 20 litre bottles?)

Any ideas from you back yard specials? Thanks for any ideas

I think the sooner I make this new business work the sooner I can just pay for a membership and have my garage back for storing things.

You could make some bogan cement weights...maybe use a clay mould or whatever works. wouldnt be as expensive as plates anyway.

Hey yeah, maybe chuck heaps of bolts and miscellaneous metal in the concrete to make it heavier. Put a heavy duty u-bolt set into it so it hooks up easily.

I like the sound of sandbags cheers. I have thought about the cement ones but making moulds is probably gonna kill that idea.

I have been thinking of going to pick-a -part and seeing if I can get some bargains to chuck on some U bolts mor S hooks. big wheel hubs, brake drums, cylinder blocks, ect.

Thanks for the help, I was having one of those proper mental block days.
