I remember the days of prancing around the gym when i started, spending my day in there working everything and what not.

Anyway, brings up the memories. Today two teenagers come in start out with some lat pull downs literally flying them up and down at the speed of light. Then after about 5 or 6, they get up and walk over to the bench press, throw on two 20kg plates and try to bench it, "oh wait it's heavy", goes lower weight and works them. Straight afterwards walk over and pick up some dumbbells doing a couple bicep curls then seeing whats the most each of them can lift....in bicep curls....

After that they do the tricep pull down and give that a try then the pec deck machine......every piece of equipment.

Not really a bad thing just funny because pretty much everyone does it for awhile. What were you like when you started?

I did the whole every machine thing . Followed by a programme designed by a trainer.

Then I did my research.. talked to a few sensible people and learnt the basics. Im still experimenting and continuing to learn and educate myself.

me and my mate used to go in.. and do like all the machines for like 3 hours

then we decided to do benchpress.. so we used to go in and do like 10-15 sets of bench.. then throw in some concentration curls for good measure

however within a week a guy at the gym told us we were fools and needed to do proper free weights. he even wrote us out a split :)
