Vitamins in pill form are bad for you

overdosing on certain vitamins are bad for you, that was about the point of all that scare mongering.

They don't tell you most of the fruit and vegies you buy are pre picked before they ripen so they are low in minerals and vitaims plus the soils get overused so are low in nutrients for the plants grown in them resulting in a double whammy of low nutrient value.

Its propaganda to misinform the public a to give government control and outlaw vitamins. The government makes barely any money in taxes on vitamins, the money is in doctors’ visits and prescription drugs!

I remember a debate a couple of years ago to outlaw import and export (from recollection) in parliament, the first step in banning these.

Vitamins and minerals have the ability to cure certian ailments bypassing the need for the public to see a doctor. As the government has a massive interest in a great relationship with the drug companies (a multi billion dollar industry) who wins. The money is not in the cure, the money is in the medicine, thats how a drug dealer makes the money, in the comeback (some great words by Chris Rock)

This reminds me around 10-12 years ago of the debate in parliament that all citizens of the country should carry photo I.D. There was an uproar by the public so after media attention died down it was left a year or 2 then Satan (Helen Clark) decided to introduce 'photo drivers licences'. Basically a way to screw the public for their own agenda overriding the wishes of the country.

Anti smacking bill, some 80+ % of the country said no, still it passed.

Our rights as human beings are and will continue to be suspended one by one.

But in some senses agree - Hell-on & her crew pushed through a heck of a lot of legislation for the sake of it. I'd hoped to see a lot more of that stripped out with the new govt, unfortunately very slow so far!

i watched it and thought it was bullshit because of the fact the most of the people lived a healthy life style so all they proved is that healthy people dont need extra vitamens.

Yeah, some vitamins can harm you if you have too much, but so can too much water at once. So can too much alcohol. So can pretty much ALL the meds that your doctor prescribes. I mean, take any more than the recommended 8 tablets of paracetamol in one day and you'll end up with liver failure.

There's no such thing as a toxic substance, only toxic amounts. Tiny amounts of the toxins in belladonna(deadly nightshade) are used to treat heart problems.

Actually, having said all that, supplement/vitamin companies are in it for the money too. They'll convince you that you need this and that for optimum health. They quote a whole lot of vague symptooms fr this defficiency or that deficiency and the average person watching the ad thinks "hey, I get tired sometimes, maybe I need that XXXX". Joe Blogs goes and buys some and ends up getting a bit sick coz he never needed in the first place.

Only people who actually have a deficiency or have a larger requirement than they can get from their food(ie, athletes) are going to benefit from supps and vits. Think about the bright colour taht your pee goes when you'v just taken vitamins. Pissin your money down the drain.

genetic modification, genetic engineering or whatever you want to call it has been going on for centuries.. e.g. cross breeding a dog is genetic manipulation. We owe a lot to science, im all for bettering any and everything

Selective breeding is a bit different to GM/GE.

...genetically modified seeds are patented, it is illegal for a farmer to retain seed from this year's crop to plant next year.

To use these patented seeds, farmers must buy new seeds from (Seed Company X) every year.

Genetic modification is yet another way for companies to make money. A lot of vegetables/fruit are engineered to be sterile, so farmers cant harvest the seeds for nxt year even if they were legally allowed to.
