door mount pull-up bar

hi I'm setting up some a pull-up bar in my house. After looking thought the internet, the most reliable one seems to be the naked gym one.

has anyone used them before? My parents are a bit worried about it ripping off the top door frame in my room

we just bolted a bar with bends up in the garage worked fine.

had a 120kg guy on it too

That one looks similar to my one, I love it, totally recommend them for a door way, if you have just a bar in a door way you can't get up as high as these shaped ones. These are great as you can do wide grip, neutral or close grip I make myself do a chin up everytime I pass the doorway :grin:

I've been thinking about doing this as well, except i'm totally useless when it comes to nailing pieces of things together.

can you please give me some instructions on how to do this?

P.S. the prices of round steel pipes in mitre10 looks a bit scary :shock:

Heh, my mate had the bar bent properly by someone. (for wide grip)

We just drilled some holes through the bar and the beams on the ceiling then put some chunky bolts through.

Was pretty easy.

Bought one of these from Rebel on the weekend. I too was a little a worried about how the door would handle my weight, but there doesn't seem to be any issues - I checked the door where the bar rests and there were no marks or anything, so I'd recommend it if you haven't bought already Rebel have 25% off if you can get there today as well

yep except I live in a tiny apartment, I have to pass the doorway to do anything! first day I did 40 of them! :shock:
