Tegal chicken luncheon

Recommended Posts

I use fitday.com for tracking calories, and any luncheon slices I see on there which could be similar to Tegal chicken luncheon that I get at the deli in the supermarket are around 53cal (3.1g fat, 1.2g carb, 5g protein).

Can anyone varify if this would be close to the real macros?

Thanks

Teagle Chicken Roll

Energy 995kj

Proetin 18.8g

Fat total 12.6g

Saturated 4.2g

carbohydrate 12.3g

sugars 1.2g

sodium 1725 mg

Mmmm that's some mighty tasty chicken - 47.7% fat. Where do they get chicken that's 47% fat?

1725mg of sodium = 4.2g of table salt per 18g of protein = anybody want to say water retention, you don't want to be eating too much of that.

That's the bits of chook they blast off the bone with high-pressure water jets... (called 'mechanically-recovered meat') - i.e. the bits no normal person would bother with!

crap i thought it was a good source of protein for such low cals. anyone know any foods that are similar macros (very low cal/carb with high protein) that are easy to take to an office job and snack without cooking/heating (i have fridge access though)

Cook a couple chicken breasts the night before then slice them up for sandwiches or just rip it into pieces and eat it over your keyboard like I do.

 Yup, be more prepared. Most things 'convenient' are going to be full of shit you don't want to be eating.
