going that hard cannot be good for you, there's intensity & then there's stupidity

Yes one would think its not good you. But it all reality very little about professional level bodybuilding is good for you. To walk around at 110kg plus with single digit bodyfat levels is completely unnatural. The human body was never designed to be in that state, and it will fight you every inch of the way if you try to put it in that state.

To achieve everything your body is capable of you have force it. You are fighting against a million years of evolutionary adaptions that are designed to keep your muscle levels low (myostatin gene) and fat levels high.

After you have been training for a few years your body will resist everything you thow at it. It is only through this type of intensity that you will be able to make dramatic progress.

Of course this type of intensity must be cycled and added into your training regieme when your body is best able to take advantage of it. During these cycles of intense training I have made clients throw up many times. I have had them lying on the floor unable to get up or move for half an hour. But is exactly during these periods when they have made extraodianary muscle mass gains. It is not only the extreme damage to the muscle fibres that causes this to happen but more importantly the shock to the central nervous system that causes rapid growth thoughout the body , not just the muscles being stimulated.

In other words, the harder you train, the bigger the gains. Oh and you need to be smart too. :)
