I know supplements can boost your performance and progress and bring fast results. I have thought about taking protein shakes on a regular basis but have not done so because of the myths I've heard... IS it true that once you stop taking protein shakes, that your muscles shrink or something? Apparently the body cannot deal without the extra input of protein...??

lol its false.

if you dont get enough protien it is hard to build and maintain muscle.

try to get the majority of your protien from real food sources, eg beef chicken fish etc

If the question is whether you develop resistance to protein in the way you would to heroin or other drugs, then the answer is no. At least, I've never heard of such a thing.

All protein shakes do is try and give your body the right food ( protein -Aminos ) to help repair and grow your muscles :)

A protein shake is just like eating a piece of steak or chicken. It's just another alternative food source. :)

Now, lots of size needs lots of food to maintain it. This is why elephants eat more than mice do. (Just in case you've ever wondered!) If you eat heaps and grow big, but then reduce your food intake, your body will shrink to a size that can be maintained with less food. But you won't shrink any smaller than you are now, if that's what you mean.

So as long as i keep the protein flowing, i'll keep growing? But as Pseudonym says, when the supply stops, the body shrinks again.... thats what i'm concerned about....
