Alacen 450 – WPC 20kg

Hi All,

Has anyone tried the 20 kg packs from Davis?

This one to be specific...Alacen 450 – Whey Protein Concentrate Instant 20kg

How did you store it? That's big amount!

Did it provide the protein you needed? Would you recommend it?

Genuinely curious to know if they are ok.

We got one of these not too long ago.

I like it. Unflavored whey doesn't really have much of a taste to it, so I've been adding sweetener and flavor essences. It mixes very well, usually doesn't take more than a hard shake to get it blended.

So far I haven't seen anything else here that compares for the price.

Moons ago I got a sack of the isolate. All good. Any unflavoured stuff you get in NZ is likely just this shit repackaged. When you compare the nutritional analysis of this WPC and WPI vs another NZ business, they're exactly the same. Verbatim. Suggesting my hypothesis re repackaging is correct :pfft:

Would suggest protecting the contents if you live in a damp area, and it will absorb smells if ya sack is left open.

P.S. 20kg is really not that much. Roughly the same size as a bag of concrete mix from the hardware store. Ok it's probably nothing like that size but it's not huge.

And watch it grow! :pfft: I don't think cool matters as much as airtight. Though obviously storing it in a furnace is not a good idea. Some people put it in plastic storage bins but I've never seen one big enough that's actually airtight. Plastic rubbish bag and peg FTW! Cheap and no splitting required.

I use sucaryl and a little citric acid, and then some Hansell's essences. I like the strawberry, banana, and orange.

Also for drinks, the Thriftee cordial is pretty good and doesn't have any sugars in it.

i eat this stuff mate, mine has lasted me months so far,i store mine in 3 5L pales. i just mix mine with water, not to thick thou otherwise it tastes like shit..

They have a auckland branch

But you want WPI or WPC? Im not sure if i want to go back to WPC, depends on what carbs are in there.

Will get the nutritional values of them(will email).

WPC is 79.8% protein, 7.2% fat, 6.1% carbs

Hard to say how long it lasts for cos I sell a lot of it to some mates but usually get 3-4 months out of a sack.
