Its what i used to make my first real workouts.

Has a lot of decent info on each exercise and how to perform them properly.

Never read it cover to cover, just picked this and that, more focused on the exercises and routines rather than competition stuff.

Is arnold schwarzenegger encyclopedia of bodybuilding any good?

I started reading a smaller book of his in Borders one time.

I was hoping his books would be honest and no bullshit....are they honest?

Yes it is good. And unlike every bodybuilding mag that's published it's not full of bullshit. Arnie's actually trying to educate readers and not trying to sell you anything as opposed to all the magazines that are owned by the supplement companies and distributors.

Sweet thats good as hes already loaded so doesn't need to make any money from it. So yeh hopefully his intention was to educate future and current bodybuilders.

Would of been cool to have a section about steroids, how to use them, and whats good shit haha.

ive read Arnies encyclopedia abt 1year n half years ago, its pretty good, still think alot of his techniques in there are really old school.. still a must have tho, i learnt alot.. still skip through it every now and then.

It does have some information about steroids too :)

Not really sure what it is cause i skipped that.

he pretty much says in the book taking steroids is cheating and taking the short cut. you never gain the full satisfaction of what you would get when training natural.. or something along those lines

His Encyclopaedia is a pretty good book, which covers the history of the Olympia and bodybuilding in general and has extensive descriptions/photos of exercises.

However, from memory, the workouts that he details in the back of the book are far too hardcore for the average beginner. I don't have the book in front of me, but I seem to remember that the workouts were pretty massive and wouldn't suit anyone who is starting out and didn't have Arnold's genetics.
