dont train main muscle groups when your sore, if there sore there still recovering and rebuilding the torn muscle to make it bigger and stronger,

rest and eat well and train a body part that isnt sore untill u adapt again.

are you having a good PWO shake to help start recovery?

i think alot of people would prefer to train one body part per week(Natural! not aas SM) as they can give ther best and go for PBs than just train half asses when sore as shit, 48 hours wouldnt be enough time for newbe to recover from a heavy ass workout on a main muscle group.

whats the point in not letting a muscle fully recover? serious question as thats would ive always been lead to belive

Is he a newbie???

I think quite the opposite...i think the more of a mature lifter you are the harder you can push yourself therefore requiring more time to recover (aas or not). Yes AAS improves recovery time and speeds up the healing process but that is not the question here. cslegacy has said that he is sore from starting working out again. Not uncommon for someone who has a period of time off. Hell, 3 weeks ago I took two weeks off sick from the gym - i came back and a six day one day off cycle and was hella sore the next week I could barely sit or move. I'd interpret that soreness to be DOMS and isnt an excuse enough for me to wait around and sit on my arse doing nothing.

always something u can do

Is that your reply?

Shutup auckbuilder you never know WTF youre on about.

Ha ha So true

no one has come up with f all to back up that im wrong?

at the end of the day its down to the person, but im just saying that whats the point doing chest when the "corner of his arm pits" are shit sore? why not do it once a week and train the rest of the body each other day allowing for max recovery and growth.

SM you cant tell me you train chest and arms 3x a week and legs twice?

i think you would be loosing weight doing that

If your muscle soreness is DOMS...then just train over it.

 classic advice from a hard man. If your over 30 then rest up and wait or something is more likely to snap. Young whipper snappers are more likely to survive training through DOMS. If you keep training on pain then you aint making it better, give the muscle as much time as it needs to fully recover.

If you haven't been in the gym for a while, it's probably just DOMs (delayed onset muscle soreness), and this is actually improved with activity.

I know when I come back to the gym after a layoff I really feel it the next day and REALLY feel it the day after that. But getting back in to the gym and pumping some fresh blood through the muscles always helps. It's called active recovery and has been shown to be the best way to get over the pain and stiffness of exercise (provided it is just DOMs).

If you are starting out, or coming back after a long time (i.e. a year or more) off, I'd recommend something like Starting Strength, which gets you working your whole body three times a week using two routines that alternate.

If you're an experienced lifter, you shouldn't need any of this advice...
