I'll have a look for some, but may just borrow a processor and make some. will let you know how it turns out

Cool! I might try it myself. Will you toast the seeds first? Most (all?) of the Ceres nut butters use lightly toasted nuts/seeds.

ok well i made the pumpkin seed buetter. its ok, not amazing, i thinka few of the seeds were rancid, which definetly didn't help. i made it quite chunky as well as i used a mortar and pestle. ill make some sludge with it and see what that tastes like lol

LOL @ rancid seed  A-n-y-w-a-y, good on you for giving it a go, mortar and pestle is dedicated. Are you on holiday at the moment? :-s I think lightly toasting them would improve the flavour of the nut butter. Save time and hassle! Eat them whole 8)

No, not on holiday, supposed to be studying but needed a break. it only took a few minutes to do as its a big mortar and pestle. ive just tried it again after being in the fridge for a few hours, tastes quite nice now, and the rancid taste has disapeared

I've just made sludge out of it with vanilla eat me WPC and suprisingly it tatses good  might use it in sludge more often. i think next time ill lightly toast them rose, see if that makes it different, but yeah, i would recommend giving it a go

All values approximate
Compare with almonds for shits and giggles: 22g carbs (12g fibre)
How sure of this are you? Cos I'm looking at my bag of almonds, and it says 4g/100g. Am I missing something, or what?

I'm never sure of anything  How sure are you of your information? Maybe your carb value subtracts the fibre and natural sugars. Who knows for certain. I suggest you set up a little science lab and do some testing. HPLC is a good place to start! :pfft:

Lol, I don't think I have ever been less sure of anything than I have been since becoming interested in this whole training lark. There's a hell of a lot for a noob to take on board. For future reference, any questions I ask are definitely intended for learning & clarification, not to challenge those who know more than I

:shifty: I don't know anything either! If you set up a lab can I come play in it? I have a few experiments I wanna try, promise they won't explode and your curtains won't catch fire or anything dodge

My understanding is that sometimes carbs are expressed as net carbs, i.e. carbs less fibre. Good example of that is Ordy's post. The label doesn't state carbs or fibre, just the natural sugars in the nuts (i.e. the 'impact carbs'). HTH :)

Ohh the carbs and sugars were separate

LOL, what, because it's on your label it must be true? Labels often omit some information. Learn your foods. Yes, almonds have carbs. Word.

Almonds

Total weight: 34.50 g

carbohydrates 6.66 g

dietary fiber 4.07 g

soluble fiber 0.45 g

insoluble fiber 3.62 g

sugar - total 1.69 g

monosaccharides 0.01 g

disaccharides 1.68 g

other carbs 0.89 g

Unless you can provide solid evidence to the contrary, I know which source I'd prefer to believe Ordy. Your label is whack

kinda illegal to put false info on them

Misleading does not equal false. Law does not require manufacturers state a complete nutritional analysis of a product. Carbs can be expressed in different ways. Impact carbs is one, i.e. natural sugars. Fibre is not considered an impact carb therefore it's often left off labels. Natural sugars aside, the carbs in almonds are *mostly* fibre.
