Krabs - what cardio did you do? (sorry i couldn't find it). As you dropped a bit of body fat, what are your plans now? are you gonna up your food take and go on a bit of a bulk??

Those are some sweet stats for one month in terms of the muscle growth and fat loss - well done

Cheers bro  ,

If you run the numbers around half of that loss is still water that the carbs were making me retain, but now thats gone I should be incinerating fat from here on in, the strong-lifts forums say that the 4th week onwards is usually the most efficient fat burning (once your body has settled into it) so Im quite looking forward to the week 8 numbers  .

As for cardio it was the same as pre-diet which is 10 min moderate cycle (lvl 11, 100-110rpm) before lifting 3-4 times a week and then probably on average a 60-90 min mountain bike ride once or twice a week.

I plan to stay on this diet for probably another 4-6 weeks after that I will start bringing the carbs back in with a few weeks of carb cycling (low carb days/high carb days) to see how that goes, high carbs every day really wasnt working for me before.

  • 4 weeks later...

How are you going on this, Mr Krabs? Still on the diet?

The first few weeks were good, but I haven't made much progress recently. At least not in terms of fat loss - I think I'm still gaining muscle, so I can't really complain. I worked out my calories using the Cunningham equation, but I think it calculates a lot higher than it should. I may have also been slightly over-generous with the amount of cream in my protein shakes. :pfft:

Hey pseu,

Yep still on the diet this is week 8 for me, Im really liking how it doesnt really feel like a diet, no hunger and cravings and have kept all of my pre-diet strength (even reckon Im heading for a deadlift and squat PB in the next week or so).

On the weight loss front it has definately slowed, weekly progress is measured in hundreds of grams (300-500g/week on average) rather than kg now but it is still dropping. Im getting all my stats and skin folds done again on monday so will do an update then.

Last couple of weekends Ive unfortunately had to do 72hr carb ups to prep for sporting events, so will be good to cut back again for the next few weeks, 24-36hr seemed to be spot on for me.

Yeah that cunningham equation is strange it put me at around 3900cals!!

According to fitday Im sitting around 3500cal per weekday at the mo

Willl update on monday
