NZFBB RULE CHANGE!!!!!!

I did eventually judge this class although i did say that i wouldnt

What made you change your mind, Mike? I'm not saying you shouldn't have, just curious as to what argument swayed you. :)

There were 3 judges willing to step down but over the last fortnight 2 NZFBB judges have resigned and a number were unavailble for the nationals so judging was done with a lesser number of judges than normal at the nationals. if all of these judges did step down the only option was to replace us with judges that were not suitably qualified, this i felt was unacceptable and unfair to ALL of the athletes, involved with this class.

The ever fair Mark Delew (back stage mashell) was some one i asked for his opionion just prior to making my decision and i judged with no bias to any athlete, i placed the athlete i felt was best, 1st.

step 1: a new rule gets made without any input from Raechelle or myself

step 2: everyone blames Raechelle for the new rule

step 3: Raechelle follows the rules

step 4: Raechelle gets punished at nationals by judges who don't like the rule, some stooping as low as to place her third.

Step 5: you all think this is wonderfull

Have I missed anything? or are you all really that petty?

Pretty average post mate.

I have no probs with Steps 1, 2 + 3, but Steps 4 + 5 simply sound like sour grapes to me.

You have shown no consideration to the judges integrity by stating that they punished Raechelle because they didn't like the rule.

Have you considered that it was perhaps the package that Raechelle presented on the day that the judges didn't like?

Step 5 - "You all think that's wonderful"

Why wouldn't people be happy with the result?

The timing of the rule change was a disgrace and was obviously rushed in at the last minute as a favour to a mate.

The fact the the intended favoured person got beaten would be considered as poetic justice by most people.

It's hard not to see the humour and irony of the whole thing to be honest.

NZFBB has almost come out of this unscathed due to the result.

If Raechelle had've won then there would have been hell to pay, but in the end the rule change made no difference whatsoever.

Now everyone has fair warning of the new rule change and can go about planning for next year.

It obvious that the current committee will change the rules to suit themselves, (or their mates), so now everyone in NZ will scrutinise any future decisions closely.

In effect the committee has made it very difficult for themselves to attempt something like this again - everyone will be watching them now.

Overall it was a pretty good outcome I think.

Despite the fact the majority of the committee is obviously corrupt they were unable to pervert the course of justice.

Personally I think thats pretty wonderful.

Mike who were the 2 judges that resigned, and was the resignation a result of the rule change

It just keeps getting better lol

Raechelle Chase New Zealand's newest "IFBB Pro Figure competitor"I will be making my Pro Debut at The Sacramento Pro show on the 7th November!

Hahaha....the plot thickens...

Not much of a plot, it was pretty obvious how this was going to end.

How can this be, she didnt win her class....and gets a pro card?

I am wondering about that as well How can this be true when Rachelle Chase did not win her class at the nats.

Now everyone will be aware of what they should do next year to stop this sort of "behind the scenes" rubbish happening within the NZFBB federation next year - vote - and vote with integrity!
Sorry, Ann - but what will people be voting for? The next elections aren't until 2011 - or do you know something I dont?

Okay, so I think we can (mostly) all agree that what happened was a complete farce. Decisions were made to benefit an individual who happens to be buddy-buddy with the prez.

The question is, what are NZFBB members going to do about it?

You are asking the wrong question mate.

It's not a matter of what the members "are" going to do about it, but more like what they "can" do about.

Absolutely sweet f*ck-all would be the correct answer.

Bend-over and grab your ankles NZ, you voted them in.

I can't believe that none of you saw it coming.

I could see it from across the other side of "the ditch".

I read on Raechelles site months ago that she had been invited to compete in the States. Maybe she needed a quicky up on getting her pro card to get there.

Did Monty get a card?? I bloody hope so - she has done bloody well as a competitor since she started. Such a lovely person too!

As an Aussie who has seen pretty much every contest in Australia I can say without doubt that Mark Ryan's shows are about as good as it gets over here.

No matter whether you are from NZ, Perth or Melb.....Mark and the Gold Coast always have the welcome mat out for you.

He is easily one of our best promoters and I would certainly encourage all of you to consider doing Mark's NABBA Southern Hemisphere in May/June over these rule-changing comps that Moe is running.

Mark loves having Kiwi's at his show and the rules never change!

I feel sorry for the likes of Jo stewart who has put in so many years of hard work and was only just awarded her card this year! only to have a friend who has certinly not got the titles behind of her be handed one a few months later! kinda shits on Jo and all the others who deserve to be labled as a "Pro".

and how bad is NZ going to look on an international stage with competitors who dont belong there! All a bit pathetic really.

Though in saying all this isnt not exactly Raechelle fault she has been given the card - i think i feel a bit sorry for her.??
