I bought one of these the other day, well the wife bought it for me :).

Best thing since sliced bread, no wires to get caught anywhere and super comfy. Easy to use as well. I give it the big :dancing:

Ooooo jealous, i was going to buy one of them! Are the buttons easily accessed to skip songs etc? And do they not look kinda naf on?

My only two hestitations  oh and it uses stupid sony music software i guess. :x

I am semi-permanently attached to my i-pod I love it, weights or cardio, walking to work, going to the shops, walking to the gym, I feel naked without it!

Head phones seem to only have a 3 month shelf life, I bend them, stand on them, sweat on them, but I have found some that have a life-time guarantee so I hand them into the shop every few months and get a new pair

It has a small roller type dial on the right ear piece, forward is forward a track and back is etc etc. It has a shuffle button which is on or off otherwise all it does is play music. No software comes with it. Plug it into pc, drag your music over and you are away, couldn't be easier. As for the look? If I get big enough guns no one will notice anyway

Yep, gotta have my own music, gym music bites. Generally it's just whatever happens to be playing on Sky music chanel (although they have The Rock FM playing in the locker room, so that's ok.

Absolutely essential for grinding my way through cardio, and just leave it going while I'm on weights. I do find though, that with the right music I get the rage going and am able to lift more/harder.

Gotta be rock & metal, mostly old school, but some newer. As long as it's loud, angry music...anything from GnR, Metallica through to Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Pantera

 Hmmm sounds pretty perfect to me, gym wise...damnit! I wish they had brought that out like a few weeks earlier, before i went and replaced my 4th ipod! Oh well, i'm sure my new one will break within a few months as usual anyway.

I personally have to have my Ipod shuffle at the gym. The music at gym is horrible and they play the same songs over and over and over and over again. Kindof sick of it really.

The ipod shuffle is great, because is really small and clips on to my shorts/pants pocket and the headphones wires go inside my tshirt. So no wires hanging around and it doesnt get in the way while working out anything. And helps me concentrate and tune out from rest of the gym.

Here here! if you can handle the lack of screen and the periodic need to update the songs, shuffles are definutly one of the best gym mp3 players i've ever used. Unfortunutly mine didn't have a very good relationship with my washing machine :shifty:

I dread the day i drop a 20kg DB on my iphone in my pocket :pale:

I hear ya man, I cringe when doing seated dumbell curls and I occasionally wack the iPhone in the pocket on the way up :? The rubber surround I have on it helps somewhat, but I'm tempted to just use the old 80gig classic for gym work instead, but it's a bit bulkier and gets in the way even more...

Ah well, phone insurance ftw.

I use to while doing cardio but that is a pretty rare thing these days, the music of choice was always hard rock (partial to anything really creed, evanescence or old school metallica). For a while there one song I always found inspirational was Iris, always made me think of the contender series much like the whole eye of the tiger does for rocky.

For weights though I just zone out and do my thing, call me a snob but I barely talk to anyone.

One thing I will note about listening to the ipod is I was always worried that I was making more noise than normal, you know what it is like when you talk with headphones in you can only imagine the amplified breathing and grunting.... for those of you who grunt.

I would fall into the same boat as Johnboy007 I use to do cardio at the gym while listing to my Ipod now that is a thigh of the past now that I have got my bike I use my pod to to keep me in the zone while training hard out or going towar Gym Rat style and listing to ACDC :rockout: :rockout: which blocks any discrations like the gym playing crap music or the same song twice.

On the rare occasions I do cardio, I might play a movie, but I don't worry about the music. As long as it's loud enough to cover any little squeaks and grunts that pop out mid-set, I don't care what they play. I'm not there to listen to music.

At least, that's what I'd always said. My gym has just started holding a pilates class once a week, and it seems the usual dance music is too unsettling for them. So they play songs like Yesterday. If anything tested my need for an iPod, it's that.

Yep, know that feeling. My gym's got the yoga and pilates room right next to the spin room, and the poor dears doing their downward dog don't like it when the Spin room next door starts rocking to Prodigy or something like that with the amp turned up to 11 :pfft: but hey, you need that kind of music when your heart's pumping so hard it's about to leap up your neck and strangle you in a full-on Spin class
