Sixty percent of adults can't digest milk

Interesting read, reading stuff like that always makes me worry that with all our science and medicine development we are retarding the natural evolution of the human race by allowing the "weak" to survive and reproduce. Survival of the fittest weeds out the weak in the natural world allowing the strong to reproduce and strengthening the species/gene pool as a whole.

Just an apocolyptic rant to mull over...

When we populate other planets we should just send over the best human genetic specimens to reproduce and create a super race. If any offspring are weak they get deported back to Earth :pfft:

f*ck it, if we want using gene altering technology we can fix recessive genes if necessary. Especially if we ever get to the point of colonizing other planets. Our technology would be so advanced at that point bad genes wouldn't matter, hell born with a crap immune system go get some gene therapy bam fixed. Hell it probably will become part of having a kid. When the woman gets her ultrasound probably something way more advanced than an ultrasound but the equivalent it can scan the kid for genetic problems and fix em during maturation.

That is of course if that technology manages to make it past all the ethical and moral dilemmas associated with it. I'd argue that is the next logical step in human evolution.

Ohhhh...

When i was in grade school i would go to lunch everyday and drink milk... my next stop would be the nurses office for a stomach ache... everyday. no one ever caught on that i could be lactose intolerant. instead they just said it was all in my mind and that i wanted attention. it took til i was 14 for the doctor to suggest i stop drinking milk. it solved the problem but not all the time. it took til i was about 17 when i started doing my own food shopping to realized exactly how many products contain lactose. snacks, lunch meats odd stuff. its something that really has to be paid attention to.
