Hi all,

I lost 27kg about 3-4 years ago, and got down to 114kg. I'm 6'6" so that was getting close to losing the gut haha. I've since put most of it back on. Largely due to the diet going downhill. I have sort of kept up the weights 9sort of as in infrequently), and the cardio has all but died, sooo I have ended up back at 140kg, and I'm pretty disgusted with myself!

I am now focussed and back into everything (diet, cardio, weights) and ready for any tips you guys are willing to share to get the fat off fast!

Anyway that's my story, and as I say any advice gratefully received!

Cheers

Hayden

Welcome.... although I'm a bit shorter than you, I've been in that place...there'll be a lot of good advice coming from the wiser heads on here.

Like Becbec said, tell us a little more about your current diet and w/o routine. Do you have access to a gym, for instance?

Weeeeelcome. Eat cleeeeean to get leeeeean

Compound exercises rule.

I found that a few sustainable cardio options you can keep doing without getting too suicidal helps you stay motivated. The variety keeps you sane and your body guessing. Being a lab rat on a machine in a room that smells like wet socks for any length of time can get kinda depressing.

HIIT is good to include in your cardio regime to shake things up a bit when/if you feel a bit stale. Stair HIIT is a quick and efficient way of burning lipids.

Boxing's good. So's skipping (HIIT or steady state).

What's it like being so tall? :shifty: Good luck with your goals.

My flatmate and I have a weight set at home, and lately we have been doing bench press, bent over rows and squats 3 times a week. I am trying to eat how the naturopath advised me to eat, which is protein the size of your palm (and thickness) good carbs the size of your hand stretched out flat and good oil (enough to cover 2 fingers) for each meal. So, lately I have been eating 3 eggs for breakfast on spinach leaves, either stir fry or salad for lunch and meat and vege for dinner. It seems to work quite well as I don't get hungry between meals. I'm down with the flu again at the moment so all exercising is on hold. I worked up one hell of a sweat hanging the washing out today lol.

I also go for walks with my other flatmate, usually around half an hour, but I want to increase that.

I do have access to a gym at my work that is free. But it's pretty small, and sometimes it's really crowded. It's pretty hit and miss whether there'll be many people there though.

The hard part is that I'm pretty much starting over again. It's hard going in with the knowledge that I used to be able to do x amount of time running on the treadmill, or rowing or whatever. 3 minutes on the rower nearly killed me last week!

I used duromine to lose the weight last time, but it makes me really nasty so I would prefer not to do that this time. I don't think I could face those sleepness nights and the constant cotton mouth.
