I've sometimes found doors closed that I was sure was open when alone in my flat. Never confronted one though. What's your story?

yea thats what happens when you get a draft.... :?

No windows or doors were open. No wind or sound of the door slamming shut. Could just be my mind getting confused. I still remain unconvinced despite it being a pretty accepted phenomenon in many places around the world

Yeh I got one. I normally keep this to myself... But here goes.

It happened around five years ago when I was 13.

I would get into bed and listen to the radio for about five minutes. And then the music would start to speed up to a point where it just sounds like really fast mumbled talking. Then it would slow down and all the words would be drawn out. It also felt like I was lying on concrete and not in a soft bed. I would also dream that I could see myself lying on a concrete slab. Then I would wake up in the middle of the night and it would still feel like concrete under me and I couldn't really move.

Anyway this happened for a few nights so one night I told my mum. She was angry at the time and I didn't know why. (I later found out the same thing happened to her as a kid but worse) She just said don't worry about it anymore, said some prayer for a couple of minutes and then it never happened again  Actually it did happen again for about 30secs when I tried to talk to "god" one night while I was lying in bed so now I don't try any of that shit :pfft: I don't care if you don't believe me but that's what happened. Fucked up aye :?

I used to have one of those touch lamps. It would randomly go through all the different light modes (off, low light, med light, high light) in the middle of the night.

I was well freaked until i realise it was just the stupid vodafone network doing it whenever i got a text cause i kept my phone next to my lamp

Its quite horrible actually. When I was 12, I would often wake up to the sound of a mans voice speaking to me, but I could never make out what he was saying, it was like gibberish or something. It was like he had woken me up from my sleep. But he/it sounded unfreindly and like he was interrogating me. I got the distinct feeling someone was in my room.

This happened several nights over a space of a few months I suppose, and one night I definately heard someone walk into my room from the landing. (British houses all have an upstairs.) I was facing the wall with my back to the room and to my horror I could hear breathing, a fucking horrible breathing noise which got louder. I shat myself and ran into my parents room and woke my mum up in complete panic. That night I slept in my bros room at the other end of his bed with one eye open, still shitting myself.

Anway.......years later I found why my 18 year old brother is still shit scared at night (we all live in NZ now, different house)...he told me several nights in the same house in the UK he would see black things flying around his room.

This shit me up a bit because it kind of confirmed that I didnt have a screw loose and wasnt imagining what I had experienced when I was 12.

Do you or your mother suffer from sleep paralysis?

I've had this in the past about 12 years ago I 'woke up' not being able to move anything except my eyes I was trying to scream 'help' but nothing came out. I later found out this is sleep paralysis, it's because while you are asleep your brain makes you paralysed so you don't physically carry out your dreams. Some how I woke up but I was still paralysed it was very scary! It happened a couple of times.

I've had the sleeping thing where you stop breathing. In my dream I came across a rainbow and when I stepped under it I lost my breath and started to suffocate. I couldn't wake myself up (I knew I was dreaming) and then I guess my body started to shake and it woke me up. Scared the hell out of me, only happened to me once more and haven't had problems with it since...

At work every so often the security alarm goes off and it scares the heck out of me when it doses.

LOL! That is pretty scary GR, it used to happen heaps at our school. They also have a loud siren every night at the library when it closes which makes you jump every time lol

No. I know exactly what you are talking about but it was different. I wasn't worried about the moving thing. Because I didn't really feel a need to move so maybe I could have moved if I wanted too. I was calm the whole time. The main thing was the radio and concrete bed :pfft:

I had been working night shifts a couple of years ago and worked four nights in a row and went to tech to study and was getting eff all sleep. I got home after my last night shift, I got home not having to go to tech. I blobbed out on the couch and had left the front door open. it was just me living in the house at the time. It was about 8am i think. Anyway, all i remember was watching the morning news then I must have started drifting off. Then I was woken up by a slap across the head, it was really hard too and it wasn't just a twack it was a full on whack across the back of my head. i jumped up and started looking around the house to see if somebody had got in or if it was just a mate being a dick or something but there was nobody there and when i checked the time i had only drifted out for at least 5 mins. Still creeps me out a bit. I was awake for the rest of the day after that.

Could it have been similar to those dreams when you fall off something high and then wake up when you hit the ground and it feels like you got hit? I had it just the other night when I was starting to drift of to sleep and wasn't even dreaming and then bam it felt like I got hit (Muscle spasm?) and I woke up .

No shit it just happened last night after talking about it :?

I don't think I have ever had a dream where I was that high up.

I had a weird one where I was in the middle of the ocean at night and I could walk and sit on top of the water. There was no wind but there was big waves and it was fun going up and down them until suddenly a wave went really high and it started to break like at a beach. I feel off the top and I knew when I hit the bottom I wouldn't land in the water but on top of it  so when I hit the water I woke up :pfft:

I have those dreams as well quite often too. But after it happened it was still quite sore, like when you normally get hit. Freaky huh? I hpe it never happens again lol.

About 15 years ago, one of my uncles came over home drunk after a late night out and decided to cook something on the stove.. he must've forgotten about it though, 'cos he ended up falling asleep on the couch in the living room without checking on it. Anyway, dad, who was asleep in the bedroom at the time, says that he heard knocking on the front door, but because of the time (was about 3-4am?) he ignored it. The knocking was continuous.. going on for ages, getting progressively louder and louder.

Pissed off and sick of the knocking, he finally woke up to check who it was and it was then he realised there was smoke EVERYWHERE. He got up, ran to the kitchen, yelling his head off to everyone to get up, put out the small fire that had started on the stove and opened all the windows. Then he went out to the front door to check who was knocking. No one there. Went all around the house.. nothing. Uncle the drunktard was still fast asleep in the living room..

Mum's a really light sleeper and she swears she heard NOTHING that night. ALL of us in the house heard nothing.. which is weird seeing as me and my sister's rooms were closer to the front door than our parents. Dad even asked the neighbours that day if any of them had knocked on our door.. nothing. We lived on a quiet street, so its not like a bypasser would be strolling by at that time of the morning.

Dad reluctantly tells this story.. 'cos he gets upset about the what ifs. And he's a pretty big skeptic when it comes to stuff about ghosts/angels and the like. But we all believe someone was watching over us that day
