Meh. I went through that phase of worshiping Ronnie and watching every video of him there was on YouTube but I'm over it now. He's a character, with amazing genetics and a great work ethic but there's not much in that head of his.

Oh brother

Ronnie Coleman has an accounting degree and has made millions off bodybuilding. Now he gets to travel to world doing guest posings making a very healthy amount of $$ while flying first class and staying in 5 star hotels. You need a bit more than rocks in your head to be able to do that.

I have several mates doing Accounting that don't even go to lectures, get pissed everyday and rely on the Accounting they did at school and they still get B's or better. Ronnie could have gotten straight C's (50%) all through Uni and gotten an Accounting 'degree'. The fact you relate the millions he has made to his Accounting degree is laughable. You don't need brains to pick up a phone and accept sponsorship from a multi-million dollar supplement corporation nor do you need to have anything in your head to make guest appearances and sign autographs all day.

I like Ronnie for a lot of reasons but he doesn't make my top 4.

Oh brother

For the first 5 years of Ronnie's pro career he couldn't place in the top 10 to save himself. But he managed to come up with a game plan that eventually helped him win 8 Mr Olympia's. 3 of those Olympia's he was working 40 hours a week as a cop. It's funny to hear young guys who don't know the background of certain bodybuilders and see a few videos on youtube and think they know it all.

And if traveling the world and getting paid $$$$ to do it is so easy, please name me some other retired bodybuilders who are currently making healthy sums of money doing it....

I know about Ronnie's entire career. From training for football at school, to entering the police force and continuing to train, to being sited by a fellow police officer and being offered a free membership at metro flex by Brian Dobson who saw a lot of potential in him, to being trained by Brian Dobson and convinced to start bodybuilding which never appealed to him, right through the first 7 or so years where he didn't place extremely high in most of his competitions until he won his first Olympia in 1998. "It's funny to hear old guys who don't know the background of certain bodybuilders and see a few videos on youtube and think they know it all."

I never once questioned his work ethic so your reference to him working 40hrs a week while training for the Olympia is completely irrelevent to the first point you tried to make. Your clutching at straws so I'll leave it there. I didn't want to get in an argument over differing opinions. I shouldn't have made the statement, "I went through that phase", when I knew it would antagonise some people. If you want to continue you can but I won't respond.

For the first time in recent history I find myself agreeing with NZMM, sorry shruglife he's got a point re: Ronnie.

Shruglife - I struggle to see how you can say Arnold hasn't got it upstairs.

The guy went from being a poor immigrant to the Governer of California, and in between he managed to marry into the Kennedy's and become a celebrity and a movie star. He also remains the face of Bodybuilding (and to most lay persons the face of anything remotely related) despite not having competed for nearly 30 years.

Charisma will only take you so far, the man had a plan and is now sitting back smoking cubans (well maybe not in America) and working out how to spend his hundreds of millions!

Keen to know your reasons for thinking he is a little slow?

sorry to get back on topic hehehe

my top pic would be flex

but i also rate Dennis James maybe he hasnt won many comps but i do like his physique.

and the fact hes a great dad and living the lifestyle i want in Thailand.

Yeah Dennis James is a cool dude but a bit too blocky for my liking. Flex had imo the best physique of the lot, he looks awesome here:

I felt I proved my point pretty unequivocally but you are entitled to your opinion like everyone.

There is no doubt Arnold has had a pretty mind-blowing life and I wouldn't slap him with EXACTLY the same label as Ronnie (I merely said "same goes for Arnold" to save time). In Arnolds case he has Charisma but lacks eloquence. He can come accross as a bit of a meathead

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

but in terms of strategy and manipulation he is perhaps deceptively aware. There is no doubt in my mind he became the Governer of California due to his celebrity status but I'm sure he was fully aware of this and consciously used it to his advantage. Any monkey can be a politician. Warren Harding, Ex-President of United States, is a PRIME example of the point I'm making.

It's easy (I think?) to see what I'm saying when you compare Ronnie and Arnie to say someone like Ray who is very quick and intelligent.

From now on if someone disagrees with me that's fine but I won't argue back. I feel I've presented enough evidence to prove my point and if it doesn't convince you that's totally fine with me

Appreciate your well thought out reply Shruglife (although I still disagree! ). Eloquence vs. strategic manipulator!

All good, back to topic!

A few interesting names coming out - who would've thought Benafato and Coleman in the same sentence! Ruhl & Paris will be next!

Yep, fair point. I can't just say someone is dumb because they aren't eloquent. I can think of a few proffessional poker players who are examples of that.

Shawn Ray = loud mouth midget with a chip on his shoulder.

Hope this helps shruglife

Haha fair enough call NZMM

Yates, Heath & Levrone for me but for insane condition no one can still beat Andreas Munzer. Pity it killed him in the process.

Got 0% Body fat? He looks like hes got no f*#kin skin  Incredible!

His body fat must've become negative, as Ramy proved it's possible to live with 0% body fat.

Lol, in the Arnie video, at 3:27, he looks into the camera and smirks while doing that pose, funny a f*ck.

Andreas Munzer (continued)

Andi as he was known last competed in the 1996 Arnold. There are many reports of what caused his death but definately high levels of AAS, duretics & prescription drugs to keep him in a shredded state almost 365 days of the year. But this is meant to be close to what he used. SM your list could still be correct. Either way he was one crazy ass mofo juicer.

10-9 Weeks before the Competition daily: Ephederine, AN 1, Captagon (CNS Stim like amphetmine), Aspirine, Valium, Clenbuterol

10-6 weeks before the Competition daily: 2 injects Testoviron a 250 mg

1 inject Parabolan

30 tabletts Halotestin

30 tabletts Metandienon (Dianabol from Thailand)

20 IE* STH (GH)

20 IE* Insuline

5-3 weeks before the Competition daily: 3 injects Masteron

2 injects Parabolan

30 tabletts Halotestin

50 tabletts Stromba (Winny)

2 injects Stromba

24 IE* STH

insulin

2-1 weeks before the Competition daily: 2 injects Masteron

2 injects Stromba

40 tabletts Halotestin

80 tabletts Stromba

24 IE* STH

Insulin

IGF

A few days before the Competition: Aldactone, Lasix

He spent aproximately 6150 USD a month on steroids!

There are also rumours of his use of DNP.

"After his sixth place at the Arnold Classic on 2 March 1996, Andi's mood remained low. 'Man, why don't you laugh?' a German official had said. 'You're the best white guy behind five Negroes.' ( Kevin Levrone, Flex Wheeler, Paul Dillet, Shawn Ray, Vince Taylor) Andi was never going to laugh at that. Best white guy. Best German speaker. All of the pain and deprivation, all of the gym seminars and pain-filled nights for those worthless epithets.

On the morning of 13 March, Andi's stomach pains became intense. His gut was swollen and hard. His bill had come in. He was fairly sure that this time he couldn't meet it. The debt was too big. The agony grew.

He was taken to hospital. Doctors there diagnosed the bleed, but could not prevent it continuing. He was transferred to the University Clinic. At 7pm, surgeons decided to operate to stop the bleeding inside Andi's stomach. Andi came through the operation, but his problems had multiplied catastrophically. His blood was viscous and slow-moving. His potassium levels were excessively high. He had been dehydrated by the diuretics he used in the days before his last competitions. His liver was melting. A post-mortem would find that it had dissolved almost completely. Andi's body went into shock. After his liver failed, his kidneys did too. He was offered a blood transfusion, but it was too late. Andi's heart held out for a while - he had always had a big heart - but by morning Munzer had joined the ranks of the bodybuilding dead."
