Hi guys,

Been lurking around these forums for the last 3 months and decided to say hi!

I'm 175cm, 27yr old male and began training in November 2008. Was 66kg then and went up to 71kg by Jan 09. From Feb-May, did lots of swimming + lift once a week and went up to 73kg. Then started taking things more seriously for the last 3 months lifting 3xweek and went up to a current 76kg. I'm pretty happy with a 10kg gain in 10months, considering i've been a skinny ectomorph my whole life. 70kg was initially my life long goal i set when i was 21, more recently it became 75kg and now its 78kg being cut.

Been doing lots of research into bodybuilding over last 3 months on articles, forums and discussions etc. I realised i've been doing it all wrong when i tried to put on muscle in my early 20s :(

Main reasons for training: Strength and muscle gain, improving my posture, physique, general well-being and to safe-guard against injury for the moment that calls for heavy lifting! :D

Oh hai :D

Impressive gains there mate. What've u been eating?

Was eating basically everything and lots of it lol. Put on a fair bit of fat though. The initial gains from 66 to 73 was without any supplements, not even a multivitamin or a single protein shake lol and i'm also semi lactose intolerant so no drinking milk either :?

Was just eating heaps of white rice, lots of chicken, sausages, little bit of steak, heaps of steak n' cheese pies, instant noodles, frozen dumplings and fish balls, the odd vegetable here and there. Basically binge eating anything till i started feeling sick lol. This kinda reached a plateau of 72-73kg.

From 73kg to 76kg, started doing cottage cheese before bed, brought a big tub of whey protein for pre-workout and post-porkout. Brought some multivitamins and some fish oil. Also eating more meat and lots and lots of sardines. Oh yeah, the consensus on the internet is that Sardines >>> Tuna if you can stomach it (way less mercury, calcium from tiny edible fish bones, more omega-3, etc). The omega-3s really seemed to help get rid of my shoulder, upper back joint pains!
