Drug-Testing this weekend

All I am saying is that if the NZFBB go ahead with having the IFBB worlds bodybuilding comp here in NZ than under the IFBB rules there is to be drug-testing and now that the NZFBB do not have a testing policy set down yet and under the IFBB rules they will have to sign up to sparc if they are going to have it held here in NZ

As much as I would like to see NZFBB have some sort of policy in place I don't know if thats all that relevant to holding the IFBB World Champs here Allen?

The elite IFBB show was always untested, as it was not covered by NZFBB. Likewise the IFBB Worlds are not covered by NZFBB, therefore if they say test under WADA rules they can, regardless of NZFBB's current position. They just contract the testing through Drugfree Sport (SPARC is only the funding body I believe). This would be similar to a NZL sports body testing it's overseas based athletes, nothing new for many sports (i.e.cycling, equestrian, athletics) where many athletes aren't based in NZL.

The NZFBB policy is a seperate issue, unless the IFBB requires the host body to have a policy.

Testing Moe is just a dig Allen, he is not an athlete for NZFBB, he's merely an administrator. How many other sports have had their administrators tested? I'd say none! Besides he's already failed the test and moved on to higher honours!

Agree with SM on this one, move on!

And will Moe still want the IFBB world Champs to be held here in NZ if so than he will need to bring back the drug-testing into NZFBB and they will want to test him first as he is the President.

Congratulations to Moe for putting in the work to get big events here and being positive about bodybuilding. Don't start a thread to abuse Moe as it will backfire on you. Maybe it the usual Kiwi habit of knocking anyone better than you. It would be absolutely amazing to have the Worlds down under.

There is another post discussing drug testing in NZFBB which has been covered in depth.

This post was about INBA so leave it there and lay off Moe.

Don't quote me on this, but technically any contest that is promoted as an IFBB show must make their athletes available to drug testing, no matter whereabouts in the world it is held.

We no longer have the IFBB logos on IFBB comps here in Australia.

All our State and National posters are missing the IFBB logos.

Since Ben Weider passed away there has been some serious turmoil within the IFBB.

Very interesting times.
