Some lady around 40 came to our gym couple days ago for a workout in a SUIT. A blazer, top and black pants and proper black shoes too. I thoughts tats little weird.

But gotto admit though..she was hanging off the pull ups bar for more than a min. I could only for about 40sec. :pfft: :pfft:

Yep we have one of those. Sets up at about 5 different stations and hogs everything then leaves all his weights all over the place when he's done. Walks around the gym with his chest all puffed out like he owns the place. Once he was chatting to my trainer and said "your client has put on a bit of beef" (last year).

Wanker.

What gym in Welly do you go to? Im in CHCH, just curious. They got a pro-fitness there?

There's a guy at my gym who does BB bench press a couple times per week. Always about 60kg. Starts off normal, but about halfway down in the rep his left arm stops moving and he brings his right arm down to slightly below the regular "bottom" of the movement, bar resting on the right-hand side of his chest (not at all touching the middle/left side). He then leans his body that way a little and bursts up with his right arm, letting the momentum he gathers do most of the work to bring the left arm up too (if that description isn't too confusing!) :shock:

It looks very odd and he doesn't seem to favour that arm with any other exercises I've spotted him doing. I'm always tempted to ask if he notices that he does that, or if he's doing it for a particular reason (one side stronger than the other perhaps?). I'm also incredibly tempted to take a sneaky vid on my phone and post up the technique, but a) don't want to shame a guy who I don't know, and b) can't think of a discrete enough way of doing it :pfft:

Its obvious I would have thought.

He's in wellington, compensating for the wind lol

LOL :pfft: :lol::P :clap: :nod:

Sounds like a he's doing a high pull variation. This lift is used as a training lift for power development and for breaking down the clean and jerk technique into a smaller facet.

I agree Matrix. High Pull variation
