hey all, im new here (obviously) and even more obvious (due to name) is im a personal trainer here in chch. recently qualified. however being a PT is far from my occupation. i am studying for a bachelor of applied science in sports exercise and loving it.

im not actually looking at competitive body building, more so just personal muscle development etc, so ive joined up to share opinions and experiences here with like minded people.

i am working hard on my phisique, developing and somewhat enhancing it (some might say).

personally, i am a MMA fighter here in cantabury, so with developing muscle i must also work on developing mobility and flexability. so its a wee bit of a different insight to the body building aspect that most would relate to, however still part of "building the body"

i look forward to exchanging knowledge and experiences with you here and i guarantee you lot here will open my eyes to certain things that must be "learned" as opposed to "taught", if you know what i mean.

anyways, please feel free to hit me up for any questions you may have regarding health and exercise etc that i may be able to help with...FOR FREE!!!!

yea CPIT. mean course aye. love learning about stuff im into.

at the moment im doing it purely for myself, just wanting to develop myself as a sport athlete and have a bit of fun in doing so.

then from there im thinking i want to be an athlete trainer, and particularly focusing on mma....so i may have to bail on NZ as the market here for mma is pretty much all amature.

but also being a sports coach for a high profile sport team or individual of any sport would be alot of fun for me.

developing someone, or a team into the best they can be. watching them compete etc would be awsome fun!

who knows at this stage :D

maybe i can steal my nephew and start training him up now (hes 5). give him a bit of a kickstart huh lol

cheers for the warm welcomes people!!!!

Hey PTinCHCH, could you enlighten those here who don't know what MMA is (like me) and tell us what it stands for? Thanks

lol girls  jokes :D

MMA is mixed martial arts.

sooooo, your publicised version that most people would relate to is probably UFC= ultimate fighting championship

or cage fighting.

now just cos i am a passionate sports person and mma is my sport of choice doesnt make me a violent meathead. im actually realy placid and chilled. to me, there is no better sport than two athletes going toe to toe with whatever theyv got. it gets me off!

Welcome and where are you working in Christchurch?

cheers :D

im not actually working as PT at all.

i got the qualifications purely for my own interest and so i could adopt it to myself for my sport.

im a high school drop out  so i needed these qual's for me to be able to get into the course at CPIT for a bachelor of applied science.

there were pre entry courses at CPIT but the cost the same as the PT course at NZIS, and the NZIS course actually gave me higher quals. hense why i took it.

so yea, im not actually working as a PT at the mo. but i am considering it for some part time work wile im doing the sport exercise study etc.
