Waldo, how come protein prices are so much cheaper across in the U.S. and so forth?

I cant see a market in purchasing whey powder from Fonterra, sticking in additives + packaging and selling it at considerably cheaper rates than existing local brands either.

There has to be another way out, short of buying a farm and backyard distilling the protein.

Telecom pre paid mobile phones are god send to uni students. 500 txts for 10$..... it doesnt get better.

Their land lines and internet leaves MUCH to be desired.

Their broadband is pathetic for their prices. I kid you not, back in Africa I had better Broadband connection at cheaper rates.

Labour has promised a reduction in broadband rates, lets see what happens.

A while back I bought some shares in Telecom, so at this point its just one big money flow for me... I pay Telecom, they pay me. Just gotta figure out how to break even ;)

Guys, I understand entirely! Don't forget the States has a population of 300 million, so the markets are a lot bigger and more competitive. Having worked in supplement retail for a while now, I know what the wholesale prices are like here. I can't vouch for what it actually costs to manufacture the stuff, but I do know MOST retailers aren't exactly greedy with pricing. They simply can't afford to be.

I don't know how extenuating circumstances such as the price of petrol effect your budgets, and things aren't exactly 'flush' at the moment economically wise, so the onus is on the consumers such as yourselves to use the product wisely and get the most from it. We as Bodybuilders (well, I'm a cyclist) should be able to weed the good stuff from the chaff supplement wise. In my experience, the smaller ticket items, such as glutamine and creatine, are actually the supps that have the most to offer!

I don't think I mentioned the retail store I managed, but could be mistaken. You'll see the brand I rep for soon enough, cos we will look at advertising on here soon.

Chat sites like this are all good for gauging feedback and customer criticisms, but getting involved in the arguement could do more harm than good. Plus there always seems to be a lot of politics in this game for some reason. We'd prefer to worry about ourselves rather than the opposition!

I ceratinly hope our products will be priced to your liking though!

Hey guys and girls, just to let you know, Xtreme Nutrition in West Auckland now has in stock those famous egg whites you're all talking about. The cost for a six pack of 1kg bottles is $49.00, or a single 1kg bottle for $9.00. As far as I'm aware that's a lot cheaper than that web site price. Also for those of you who think that you can't afford more than 1 protein shake a day, Xtreme Nutrition is selling 5LB Whey Concentrate for only $69.00, good range of flavours too.

I understand there is going to be a taste testing on Sat the 15th between 11am -1pm of a new protein powder here in NZ called USN, it's a South African company, a bit expensive but good quality, and they're giving away free tee-shirts with any purchase of the USN powder.
