Not sure about the ECA stack, Jono. I asked a friend about it this evening - apparently it used to be legally available, but I'm not sure what it was called, who made it, and even whether they're still in business... :P

If it was still around, I presume it would have to use Ephedra navadensis, as all other forms of ephedra/ephedrine are prescription only.

Personally, I've used ThermoDynamX (I think it's EAS?) and had good results from that. It got me nice and lean for competition with next to no cardio. Definitely felt more alert while on it, and didn't really experience much of the "caffeine jitters" often associated with thermogenics. Currently trying ProLab's Therma Pro (cos it was on special...). It seems to have a wee bit more of a caffeine kick to it, but it's too early to say how well it works. I've taken it a few times before workouts now, and I think I can notice a boost in energy levels.

Well, you can lean up without them easily enough - it just won't be quite as fast, and you may have to cut your diet back a wee bit further.

For instance, I used the ThermoDynamX earlier this year when preparing for my comp. Coming into summer, I put myself back onto the same pre-comp diet, but this time I didn't use thermos. Since I didn't have a deadline looming, I wasn't quite as strict with my diet the second time round. But I think it was pretty similar to the first one, even though I wasn't as anal about measuring everything to the last gram. I still saw good results on diet alone, but they weren't as dramatic, and I found I plateaued out much sooner.

Having said that, I've managed to get my thermogenics when they were on half-price specials - otherwise I might be tempted to do it the hard way.

I've used ECA stack. I've also tried other Thermogenics but nothing really compares to the real thing I'd have to say. ECA leans you up real quick if your diet is tight, also helps with heavy lifting.

When it was legal it was cheap as. But now with all of the "P" epidemic, it's a lot harder to get hold of. I know of people in Auckland who make their own, but I think last time I checked they were going for about $250 per 100 caps. Very effective though, however can be addictive. Need to cycle them too or else you can have problems.

Its always been hard to get, before and after the P thing.

Iv still got some ma Huang, which for me is better than The newer stuff(since the ephedra ban in the u.s)

I guess if yo know some supp store owner's, you could get it- otherwise too bad.

in all honesty, i wouldnt even recomend it unless your doing a competition, because it will only supplement your diet, not compensate for a poor one.

also theres a few doctors who will prescribe phentermine(similar), so go searching

You will not find the old ECA ephedera/caffine/asprin stack anywhere since the ban. I also know people who have resorted to making their own. You shaould be able to find ma huang in some chinese medicine shops, from memory it contains 6-8 % ephedra alkaloid it is definatly better than any of the "thermogenics" currently available otc.

any caffine product available in supplement stores or chemist will help with energy for a workout. start with recommended dosage and up it to see what works for you.

most companies have gone with an active ingredient called synephrine now which does a similar job as ephidrine did but not as harsh, and also legal. Most thermogenics i have seen lately contain synephrine. alot of people also use green tea extract. The EAS thermogenics are good. Take a look at what supplementsonline has. Sans' T3 is good.

From my personal experience synephrine is no where near as effective as ephedrine. Not even close.

agree with you there, have tried both and ECA is the way to loose weight

yeah thats true. Also an active ingredient called Xenaphrine that is supposed to be another replacement. Also not as good as ephidrine.
