I think I make better gains while on my multi, although that may just be placebo. Like Jono, I just get the cheap (and probably nasty) men's "performance" multi, so it has a bit more zinc, maybe contains trace amounts of tribilus, etc... :D

I double the dose. It may not be as good as a more expensive brand, but I'm poor, and there's a distinct shortage of companies sending me products to review!

(Sure, I won't be bribed or bought, but they could at least try, couldn't they?!) :(

A good mutli-vitamin and mineral is a must for any serious athlete. I find the Clinicians Vit/mineal Boost really good and reasonable in price, it also has l-glutamine in it. I get mine from Nutrition Plus stores. An athlete is more at risk of disease's like cancer when the immune system is under stress, which is caused during training. Keep up a good pharma grade multi to keep your immune system strong so you dont cause any damage to cells. Multi's dont make you feel like an instant super man but next winter you wont get sick and muscle recovery should also be better.

you got that right!! however I have read an article that you should have one day off a vit a week. it gives the body time to reset and produce the required minerals itself.

when it comes to make or brand. as far as I have been able to tell they are all relatively the same. the only difference, really is price, and most of that is from very clever marketing. I just get the healtheries from pak n save. lasts a month. the cheapest sup I can find, and need:)

I disagree.

With the level of processed food that is around today, depletion of minerals in soil from over farming. stock being limited with their feed, which is also depleted multis are crucial.

I think everyone, today, needs a multi just to keep the levels up, yet alone if you are cutting which limits food intake and minerals consumed.

I mean if it is providing a mineral that is already existing in the body, you just piss it out anyway. so they just more keep you topped up to ensure the body can run at its best efficiency

If your pissing out excess vitmains isnt this placing undue stress on your liver???

I'm not saying the supps are bad ( actually i probably need them cause i eat few veges) but wouldnt it be better to find out what your lacking in and only supplement in what your missing.

if it could be easily done yeah. definately look at a specific. i think the levels of vitamins youre introducing via supplementing is pretty small. and as stated before a square diet "should" give you most of it. the multi is there just to complete the picture.

I think if you're wolfing down hand fulls of pills three times a day than the stress on the liver might come into play. but not if it's one a day :)

I dont belive that taking a lot of multi's would be hard on the liver. There is nothing in them that isnt all ready in food right?

yeah sorry I guess I didn't say my view clearly 8)

taking a multi would put very little impact on the liver. you're dead right. taking a multi, even if you take hand fulls of aminos, essential fats, methoxy, tribulus and anything else you want to spend your money. the impact on te liver would be bugger all. :)
