Sept. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Walt Disney Co., the world’s biggest media company, outflanked Hollywood competitors while enhancing its film lineup with the $4 billion acquisition of comic-book pioneer Marvel Entertainment Inc.

 big news for a comic geek like me!!

The earliest Disney could add a Marvel theme-park attraction in California would be 2013, Niles said.

Now thats a good enough reason to go back to Disneyland --- my kids are going to have to drag me off the rides :pfft:

Dammit, both my choices have already been nominated. As a young fella, it was Thor comics, I can remember showing the cover of one to my aunty and telling her that's what I was going to look like lol. *sigh* I'm allowed to dream.

As a teenager (and beyond) it was the artwork of Boris Vallejo

Yeah I used to be mesmerised by the comic book physiques when I was a kid. The hulk was the most impressive, and being the strongest of them all as well definately made him my favourite. Although I liked conans physique as well. Thor allways seemed to be the most dense and hard looking, like a real freaky density, kind of like a comic book dorian. I thought supermans body was so so, it never really struck me like some of the others did. Spiderman I thought was just way to skinny to be a real super hero.

Yeah but definately had a major influence on me wanting to become a bodybuilder. My freind who was a couple of years older than me was a real comic book collector, so I used to read them way before I first ever saw my first bodybuilding magazine.

cool thread

yea man Boris has some real nice paintings especialy of hot chicks, ive had a couple of his callendars in the past.

when i was young and use to watch and read marvel stuff i never really thought much about the muscles of the characters, just interested in there powers and style.. but when i saw dragon ball Z, i was hooked, ther muscles and strength really gave me inspiration lol.

I wouldnt mind popping some sensu beans  it was like DBZ version of Dbol .

( looking forward to Armageddon this year by the way )

Interesting topic. I've developed a love of comic books but cannot quite relate to classic comics - I love Preacher, Lucifer, Transmetropoliton, Hellblazer. Does anyone here feel such things have had a negative impact on your body image or is it just inspiring for you?

I like Boris but find his women a bit eye-roll enducing. His wife, Julie Bell, on the other hand has some great shit:

Him and Luis Ruyo...awesomeness.

I would go into Borders,an Waterstones (big UK book shop, where I'm from) and check out all the fantasy/sci-fi art. Awe inspiring.

I would love to be Goku, the goofy but tough as Sayan. F*ck yeh. KAMAY HAAAA!!!!!

You guys who like Boris Vajellio and Luis Royu (spelling check) should check out the books sloely on women that one of them (maybe both) did.

Some sexy as fantasy women in there. (this is for all you guys actually, tho there are loads of pics of hunky he-man type dudes as well.)

I had one book called Secrets, I think it was by Luis Royu.

One of them has a wife who is great at drawing as well.
