So as we are in the sport of making our bodys look better , whether it be for aiming for more muscle mass or just loosing the unwanted weight, what are some compliments uve had and what ar sum of the discouraging things(generally by those that dont hold back from the truth) uve had said to u regarding ur progress?

and are you one to comment to others about there progress, good or bad?

:? wow, so no one gets any funny or motivating compliments and no one gives any ot othas? wota a sad world we live in

well i for 1 will always talk somone up,compliment them, even if theyre not making much progress, becuse i rekon it can be the make or break point to sum1 just giving up or really pushing themself to succeed.

one comment ive had a cuple of times after showing family or friends sum pics of me on stage is 'wow , ur hiding quite a bit of muscle under those clothes' :shifty: now i dnt know whether to take that as a compliment or not, as every1 wants to feel like the have a big frame and stand out in a crowd with a avrage fitting t-shrit on , but i guess it cool to have them atleast acknowledge ur size wen u tryin the heardest to show it off :shifty:

I'm not so keen on hearing 'you look prettier with a bit more weight on' from a fat family member (female therefore jealous!) when I mention that the reason why I'm not drinking is because I've made a lifestyle change to be fitter and healthier and more muscular, and that I've lost 6kg this year.

But I'm not overly bothered about other people's opinions. Big enough (and apparently ugly enough  ) to be more concerned about my own opinions.

Its funny here at work cos I dont think people quite know how to approach the "youre looking bigger" style of compliment theyre so used to saying "yourve lost weight good on you" the closest Ive got was "youre looking very athletic" thats close enough to "man yourve packed on some decent mass!" in my books so Ill take it

Competition time:

"I prefer chicks with less muscle" :-s

"You on the juice?"

"You look a bit sick"

"Hows the diet and training going?" :clubbed:

Off season:

"you're looking good" hmmm compared to what an elephant? :pfft:

"who ate all the pies"

"you've put on some size aye" Um yeah its called fat :shifty:

As for me..the only things I get to hear are from other experienced bodybuiders and those bodybuilders who have competed and they give me some positive feedback  ....and the only negative feedback I get from them is....When you going to compete?

'Oh you look good, but you bodybuilders live such an unhealthy lifestyle', from someone who smokes a pack a day and drinks piss all weekend

Pre comp when you're all vascular - "ewwww all those veins are so disgusting!" \:D/

BTW Specter, when are you competing? :pfft:

I don't like being told I'm pale. Why? Cuz I don't give a f*ck! I'm still skinny, which is worse than being pale! Just f*ck off with that.

I like hearing advices on improving my technique. I don't like being told my technique is "perfect". Dang, that's just something I refuse to believe. There's always something that can be improved.

On a side note, I really liked the word "piceps", ha-ha-ha.

like everyone out there, I enjoy getting a compliment, but I've given up waiting for others to notice my gains, (specialy these tempory gains tucked under my chest  even though i aint had a drink, curry, kebab or pie in bloody months!)

So I've taken to big daily helpings of extreme public narcissism at every opportunity \:D/ I know they're all thinking it, I just verbalise it for them!

I had to after the last person said "you seem to know a bit about weight training, did you used to be into that sort of thing?"

Ummm wtf... I don't need to go to the gym because I do

Now, that is true, very true!

Best feedback was something that WASN'T said... several people who always remembered the old fat TFB simply didn't recognise me at all.

Second best feedback - being told I'm showing improvements by people who clearly know what they're doing.

Third best feedback - being told I'll make it!

Hmm to untrained people an average level of development looks extremely impressive. That's what I've noticed anyway. I like the "you don't want to get any bigger though do you?" comment that alot of people make. A stupid question when I'm big enough people will know.
