I get a weird look from the checkout girls at the supermarket when I hand over a $50 note covered in a fine sprinkling of Chocolate protein powder on one side of it.... And sometimes eftpos wont read my bank card because of the protein stuck to it.. :shifty:

What's the reasoning behind using water? Casein in milk is a slow digesting protein but thats added protein on top of your Whey. The Whey would be absorbed at the same rate with milk as it would with water and the Casein would break down at a slower rate. If someone has a link scientifically proving that Whey is absorbed faster if consumed with water as opposed to milk I would be very interested in reading it.

Milk put a lining around your stomach that slows the digestion process > membrane like. e.g If you have a mild stomach ulser and it giving you grief a glass of milk has been known to settle the pain as it puts a thin barrier between the stomach lining and stomach fluids. My uncle drinks his whiskey with milk for this reason.

its about its consistancy not its nutrient value.

Water with 2 tbsps of oil

 wow thats like nearly 30grm of fat. is that not considered to much/waste for one serve? thought the norm was 1 tbsp :-s

I think an important part of bodybuilding is knowing what works best for your body, and the only way this is achieved is by trying out different things like training methods, food intake etc over time. We are all different and respond in different ways.

At the moment I have raised my fat intake and dropped my carbs a little. I have found this to be effective for me to drop body fat but still put on muscle. I am also on a cycle of gear of just under 2 grams a week so that also comes into play regarding my intake of food.
