Bit of advice required

Hey all,

My wife started BB in January this year and has just started her cutting phase. Since she started our eating habits have changed dramatically in the house.

I have a resonably trim physique and only really workout twice a week at home with the boxing bag and some basic weights. What I would really like to do is loose some weight from around my waist (bike tyre size), but I don't want to get much skinnier as everyone is starting to notice.

So, I'm not sure if I should up my cardio or change my diet? My wife suggested upping my protein intake, perhaps start on protein shakes?

Height - 1.78cm

Weight - 86kg

Typical day:

B - 1 Cup porridge with trim Milk

S - Trail Bar with fat free yogart

L - 2 sandwiches with meat and salad

S - Banana and Apple

D - Meat and Vegetable (No Potato) whatever partner has really

So, I want to loose the tyre but not get any skinnier, any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks :)

Hey there Rick - one suggestion is to pick up ur resistance training to minimum 3x per week to build/maintain muscle mass, will assist in fat reduction by burning more cals.

Your diet has a good base. Keeping suggestions rather broad, you could up ur protein intake by adding egg whites to porridge, adding a good clean protein source to your snacks (fish, chicken, cottage cheese, lean meat), a few almonds for good fats. Would be good to see more fibrous veges like green beans in there too. Bread for your sammies should be anything grainy, the more grains you can see the better.Just make sure you east ENOUGH cals And drink lots of water throughout the day. Hope this gives you some ideas to work on Rick, it is a bit of trial and error

Thanks for the quick reply Lowfat. sounds like really solid advice, ur right, increase of 2 workouts to 3 sounds logical. Increase in protein sounds good.

Drinking between 6 - 8 glasses of water on most days is what i'm doing. Can't bring myself to getting rid of bread altogether yet, suggestion on grains noted.

All good, plans in place. well said, trial & error. Thanks again for time taken on advice, appreciated. If ever in need of a spare tyre, u know who to call.
