Egg white powder - absorbtion?

Recommended Posts

Eggcel sell 2kg tubs of this powder, the price/nutritional profile is fantastic!

$112 delivered, you get 40 serves, each serve is 50g, containing 46g protein.

i want to use this stuff as a great source of aminos for bulking, my questions -

1) anyone use these? opinions?

2) with powder eggwhite, can your body absorb it as well as cooked egg?

ive read RAW eggs arent really absorbed well compared to cooked, so what category do powdered whites fall into?

on paper, seems like an excellent product!

Damn I was hoping somebody would answer this! I don't see why the powder would be much if any different to the liquid form? Surely it's just dehydrated egg whites so shouldn't lose much nutritional qualities? I think I'm gonna get some of the powder too it looks damn good!

Sorry, can't help with that - never tried the powdered egg whites.

Can speak for Eggcel's frozen/liquid egg whites.... a convenient alternative source of protein.

From memory, the 'frozen' gets around the issue of the risks otherwise associated with raw eggwhites....
