Proviron and LH/FSH

Recommended Posts

Apparently proviron will slightly raise your LH and FSH levels above base.

First off is this true?

And secondly will this happen on cycle?

If thats the case, you wouldn't need Hcg to stimulate the tstes back into action as the prov would be keeping the LH firing thoughtout the cycle.

This would greatly accelerate your PCT......

Your thoughts???????

You know Cast Iron thats a very good question. Proviron (mesterolone) is basically an oral version or derivitive of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) in the same type as Winny & Anavar. The injectable form nearly the same compound is Masteron. DHT is 3-4 times as androgenic as testosterone & incapable of forming estrogen. So thats why Bbers use it in a PCT. It attaches to the aromatase enzyme & limits estrogen production. Its not really a mass building drug but stacked with Test & other androgens & progestins it can be a very useful drug. There is the ongoing debate by those that advocate its use as a "bridge" as to whether it stuffs up the HPTA. Most research suggests it does not, or if it does it is only minimal. I have not used it in this way so I really cant comment.

Now I had to do a bit of research around the traps to see if it does do anything to LH & FSH & again its not that clear. It would appear that it does not reduce LH & FSH in normal subjects but it does not say that it will restore it either. Its prescribed in practice to men with low sperm count & impotence as those that use it will testify (excuse the pun) how it gets the wood hard & the load big, so maybe there is something in that theory. I think though its generally regarded though that it does not replace Hcg & Clomid in getting LH restarted. If anyone has used it in this way with success please post up.

Cheers for the reply, seems like there is many differing opinoins on what exactly this drug does.

I'ld also like to know weather it binds to the SHBG strongly or not, and weather or not it actually frees up more test for doing so........all i've read says that it does, but the main reason its taken is for its anti estrogen properties.

Is this a worth while drug, is the extra test that becomes available worth it compared to shooting an extra 100mg/week.

Yes it does bind well with SHBG & thus allows more FT to be availailabe & because it is one of its attributes it does stack well with Test & gets the best from it. So by shooting an extra 100mg Test PW it might not be as effective as by using less that is not constrained by SHBG production. Generally its regarded as an add on drug. Some people love it others think it a waste of time. It can be really good stacked with 250mg Test on an HRT regime. It was discontinued as a prescription drug in NZ in 1997.
