Well after being a regular visitor to this site, i thought it's about time to introduce myself. Plus I've just moved cities and might need some support - (kick up the ass) to stay focused as i try to adjust myself and my 2 kids into a new life!

I've been a regular gym goer for the last 8 years, but only in the last 3 years had an interest in Weights. I teach group fitness classes (pump, rpm, step) and enjoy sharing energy with like minded people who are on a fitness related journey!! BUT my new job means i do less of this, which means i can focus on my own training a bit more, I'm excited about this!! I have always trained, even when teaching lots, but understand that i probably wasn't getting enough REST for it to be beneficial!! Soo...I've been thinking about doing a competition.....what do you think??

My current stats

Body Weight - 67kg

Fat Mass - 10.5kg

Height - 159 cm (I'm a shorty!)

I enjoy feeling fit & strong and here's a brief lowdown on my training schedule... i try and switch up the focus every 4-6 weeks

Day1 - Hammi's/Bi's/Calves

Day2 - Chest/Tri's/Abs

Day3 - Quad's/Shldrs/Calves

Day4 - Back/Bi's/Abs

Day5 - Core/Tri's/YOGA

I enjoy my Cardio and RUN 30 - 40 mins every morning bright and early 5am, this is MY time, sometimes longer if i've got shit to get of my mind!

I also do Yoga/pilates/tai chi @ least 1x a week.

I also usually do a cardio based group fitness class in the evenings (step, rpm etc) - My son is into his biking so am no stranger to all day mountain bike trips at the weekends.

Prior to my new job, i was also teaching 9 classes a week! SO when i wasn't training, eating, resting ..... i was thinking about training, eating and sleeping!!! Balance? Where? Hence the change.....

so 2 weeks into a new regime with decent recover time (in comparison) I thought i'd get right down to put my journal out for some feedback...

Hell with that sorta routine and output, why aren't you competing?

been thinking about it aye, have always had massive respect for the sport... up until now, i just train to help keep my sanity!!!

And although i've been training a while, i still feel pretty fresh at it all.

  • 1 year later...

been thinking sbout competing in 2011 .... as 2010 has been a bit of a 'nothing' year in terms of training gains ...haven't really been focused, just going through the motions... BUT on the other hand it's been nice to have a bit of a break.. a couple of things to ask...

1. I am concious about the condition of my skin on my stomach  afterchildren i have hideous stretch marks on my abs, how does this effect competing/tan stuff application etc....

2. Like any sport, i imagine competing can be expensive... what would be a guestimate of costs?
