Anyone use cayenne pepper in their recipies????

My PT told me to through about 1/2 pinch of this into my omlette for dinner as it is a good fat burner and is non stimulant.

Anyone used this before?

My staple dinner at the moment is a spanish omelette.

8 eggs (2 yolks)

Chopped chicken or lowfat ham

Spring onion

Pineapple

Mushrooms

Red pepper

1/2 pinch of cayenne pepper

Mix together then put in fry pan. Once cooked on bottom put under grill until cooked and throw on some jalsberg cheese(lowest fat cheese) fold and eat.

MuscleMag recently published a 'spicy chocolate shake' recipe, basically 1/2 serves each of whey and soy protein, 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.... must try it and report the results.

The capsaicins in cayenne raise the metabolic rate, and cinnamon reduces insulin sensitivity - which is good, since insulin can promote fat storage.

Dont wanna be a pain mate, but you'll find that you'd want to increase insuline sensetivity not reduce it.

Reduced insulin sensitivity or insulin resistance is what that can cause exess fat storage

Ah ya probably right - it was late and cold, I couldn't be assed typing out exactly what was in the mag...

but I did try the cayenne-and-cinnamon in the shake last night...you can definitely taste the quarter-teaspoon of cayenne in a cup of water, but no ill effects - I'll do it for a while (a few weeks) to see if it adds anything.

I wonder how many scoville units (heat) are in a 1/4 tsp....
