Speak for yourself, I'm the epitome of health. My doc said everything was in order (colesterol, BP, etc.).

Lifting weights and the diet that goes along with it isn't exactly the world's healthiest hobby, but I'd rather enjoy my life and die a few years earlier than live forever and not be strong.

Understandable, I used to eat tons of red meat but have more recently opted for chicken, fish etc, red meat made me feel like crap - doesn't it do the same to you??

dude i eat so much lean food that a change to beef like premium ground beef or really really leen beef is good regardless of the fat content the calorie count is so high and as for milk man im drinking anchor XTRA 5.8 grams protein per 100 mls 192 kjs so i guess thats like 40 calories and only 0.2 grams fat with 200 mg calicum amazin bro its like a food on its own:D drinking 400 mls per shake gives you more calories and more protein than an actual scoop. your average milk i think its like 3.5 grams protein per 200 mls and quite a bit of fat . even if i could only drink regular trim milk low in fat, thats is still good as its easily calories to get down...becuase i dont really have time work 10 hour shifts then straight to gym.

We don't really think alike then

(Edit: Not implying that's a bad thing. If everyone thought the same it'd be bloody boring)

i just imagine a big sumo guy handing me like a 5 pound steak 'here my son, eat'. im not a budist and dont even mix the other topic into this  LOL-how do you imagine him?

  • 2 weeks later...

I must admit that Squatting really is one of the king of exercises. I have been staying away form them and substituting using leg press and leg extensions as core builders....but...sigh.. for me they just aren't in the same league as squats. After many years of competitive sport and the odd knee operation I have been slowly easing my legs back into things and working on some higher reps, stretching and just trying to get tendons and ligaments a bit more elasticised. I did a bunch of light squats this morning and have to say I renewed that experience of walking down the gym steps with legs flopping from side to side. Like meeting an old friend again.....
