Wondering if i should get a blood test?

Hi all. I had a general blood test when i went to the doctor last year sometime and everything was fine.

FYI: only supplements i take is superpump and protein. (none of good stuff :pfft: :pfft: )

Anyway, have recently got into bodybuilding and eat properly and all for about 5months now. I never felt better and getting stronger.

My question is, do i need to get a blood test, just for general check? Or is it a waste of money?

If its a good idea to get a blood test, what do need to look for?

Cheers.

yeah i agree with holden...if you feel good then you should be fine listen to your body. if you are interested in a test you gotta decide what you want to test cuz you cant just test everything as it will cost ALOT. alot of people generally check their testosterone levels...i would if i was older but im still quite young(19) so im fine.

Thanks guys. I wont bother den.

But a normal blood test does not cost you anything when you go to a doctor (doctor fees) and tell him i would like to get a blood tests. Its free as far as i remember as i got it done last time.

So just wondering how much does the testosterone level test cost? Thanks.

dontbe so quick to assume - i took abnormal results from previous tests in to a doc, and he didnt wana pay for the retest because 'the government only subsidises tests for illnesses'. if i hadnt then pointeddd out the original tests i did myself for over $90, i woulda had to pay for them!

so, unless something is wrong or you plan on needing baselines for something, save your moolah

Thanks SFS. I dont know what type of abnormal test results you talking about which cost you 90$.

But what i mentioned in my above posts is that, when i went to my usual GP for normal check and he advised that as i havent got any blood tests done in a while. He prescribed it for me.

And then i went to a clinic near my hus advised by the doctor and they took the blood and gave the results to my doctor and he emailed them to me.

For all the above i only had to pay for the GP fees which is about $20.

But i very much doubt they wud do the testost levels with that blood test as well

I had some bloods done last year

testo came back higher than the normal range and liver enzymes were up, doctor assumes both were caused by some anabolic supplement even though i hadn't ever done anything, now i get a lecture whenever i go to see her.... I don't think she believes i'm clean
