Reactiv Pure NZ Casein Protein

Hey everyone!

I just bought the Reactiv NZ Pure Casein Protein few weeks back. And i've been having a really hard time! This protein just doesn't mix! It's like a stubborn white powder arrogantly maintaining it's form even when used with an electric hand-held blender. And it tastes like..well, it's got no taste (i know that!) and that's not my problem. My problem is: How do i get to mix this thing?????

Now, i miss my ON 100% Casein. It's a bit expensive, but at least it had no ego (and could easily mix with water)!

So, if any of you guys can tell me how to mix that arrogant powder, i would be really really grateful!

what are you trying to mix it with?? have you tried just warmish water in a shaker? not the most pleasant experience but may do the trick.

I have never had this problem. Make sure you add the powder to the water, not the water on top of the powder. A whiz or blender makes it into a thick smooth shake. I like to add a scoop of casein to my normal WPC to make a thicker shake.

I would just spend a bit more, if you could....., how is the casein of Balance?

If you look at the raw price of the casein compared to the Reactiv price it is a tad bit expensive considering it was just thrown into a smaller bag........

Sorry, good luck with mixing it. The post re water first is probably a good step if you don't already do that. I've found even protein powder mixes bad if done liquid last. Especially soy protein powder. I bought some SPP and never used it because it's like quicksand when you mix it...

So on Saturday I tried making pancakes with it. Zomg, I gave up trying after the second batch. It was a funny and interesting experiment though. And now I've got slightly less soy protein powder I don't know what to do with.

I use quite warm water (not too hot cause it denatures the protein??) and then stick it in the fridge for about an hour

BTW how does the reactiv casein taste?

have you got any wpi or whey from them?

Their Casein tastes of nothing much - but much better than the Balance Night Time Growth (that stuff just makes me gag). As for their WPI and WPC it is very nice. I have only had vanilla, but it is not sickly sweet like many other brands, mixes well. Good value for $$ too.

i have no problem mixing this stuff in my blender put water in turn blender on then tip the powder in as its buzzing, try it with a tablespoon of milo, and its all good.. also tastes real good with milk an milo

the WPI is really good and same with the WPC from reactiv... we have bought ALOT from them.
