Fake Supplements?

ok guys heres the thing a while ago i got some horsepower by UN from my gym it tasted really bad but worked really REALLY good incredible i tried monohydrate after it but didnt feel much off it so i decided to buy another tub of horsepower again.

ok so this tub went for about 135 at my gym at the time (maybe half a year ago) and i found a good deal on it for about 85 so quite a bit different

when i tried it didnt feel as potent the endurance was great and felt zingy becuase its the kind of pre workout that gives you an itchy face and makes you tingle but it didnt feel as strong in that retrospect either. i noticed that it wasnt as grainy when i mixed it up and i remember after it settled it had a certain look to it as well which this doesnt now. ive lost about 1-1.5 kgs of weight im wondering not as grainy, perhaps water which could be creatine related? dare i question the source of this product? i have been sweating more in comparison to the monohydrate so that would be alot of the water there but it seems a bit off.

i remember also trying superpump from this one site too i was kinda disappointed from all the hype could it be the source of where i purchased it from becuase my friends said it was great and its rated one of the top pre workouts even in america which i was confused about after i tried it. purchasing based on online reviews i was definately disappointed.

now ive heard that all these online websites buy from a nz main manufacturer/distributer .i trust for example punch supplments and theyre prices are on the high side too so i guess because they have a retailer but some smaller businesses online out there that have some really good prices but can we trust them all?

Ultimate Nutrition was being distributed by a business in the BOP, Gaspari Supepump comes from a distributor else where in NZ. There are those who buy from the authorised distributor and you are pretty safe if there is any come back and then there are those who buy cheap from someone who isn't authorised to sell it so who really knows where they get it from. Best thing you can do before you purchase a prod from an online store in NZ is to go to the top of the chain, yeah man the people who make the stuff and ask for the details of the NZ distributor if you have't already found it on their website. Then contact them yourself and tell them of your concerns, they should be able to tell you straight away whether they supply the online store you bought it from.

I've already a store who's prod wasn't what it said it was and a shit load who don't buy it from the auth distribs. Sometimes buying the pro a little cheaper from a parallel importer will bite you in the ass :pfft:

yeah thats right man thanks for clearing that up lol i thought it was just me being paranoid or something...i thought there is no such parallel importing of this besides personal purchases from eg BB.com because shouldnt they get stopped by customs with a bulk amount? because the majority of products eg like superpump would normally get stopped because of the ingredients in it. but at the same time i couldnt find some of these products besides from this one site i guess that was the thing they may not have been getting it directly from the nz supplier to regulate the ingredients.

if they say its been reformulated in nz and its got a new white label sticker slapped over the original one is this a product of a NZ distributer or regardless of this can it still be an un-authorized product?

superpump wasnt really reformulated, they just changed the scoop size, ingredients are still the same.cant remember what the new serving size was,but the old one says 1-3scoops,and i usually take bout 2-3 scoops for full effect.

I love Superpump but 3 scoops would have me jittering and dribbling I reckon (Im pretty stim sensitive, 1.5 scoops is max for me).

On the subject of variable supplements and superpump, Im on my 3rd tub of super pump and as I said absolutely love the stuff. This tub behaved a little differently to the first two; for the first maybe two thirds of the tub the effects were less than I was used to, I thought this was strange but put it down to building stimulant tolerance and decided I would probably take a break after I finished this tub.

Well turns out its sure as hell not stim tolerance the last third of this tub is amazing! I had to drop my dose half a scoop to cope. The only theory for this one is that there may have been some settling of the ingredients or something in this tub causing these effects, will be shaking my tubs well before I use them from now on!

oh ok you probly are building a tolerance for it you are cycling it on and of right?have you been purchasing it from the same location aswell? because this is what this topic is about. im kinda refering to the reliability of the product from the source where it is purchased, comparing the same product purchased from two different sources.

Im not really commenting on the "business ethics" of supplement companies here Im just stating that variability can have many factors, there are whole companies in the pharmaceutical industry whose sole purpose is to research solutions to these sorts of product variability issues. Im guessing supplement companies dont devont nearly as much research to this side of things as an FDA regulated API manufacturer has to.

There may well be dodgy blending and cutting going on out there but Im just playing devils advocate here and saying that a variable result does not always mean deception is afoot.

But yes the superpump I speak of was from a different source and the container was slightly different looking to the first two. But the fact is the last 8-10 scoops of this tub were amazing.
