what bout sum1 who hasnt cycled for over a year and a half

Your nat test levels have probably well kicked in. The only way to know is to do it - if you can get a good gain from that you should be very pleased as you'll be saving $$$

Some people will respond to that level but it generally regarded as a dose for TRT. Its still about 3 times what the normal 25yr old male will produce naturally PW (80mg) but if you are going to f--k up your Axis why not go for the standard 500mg dose.

Completely agree with that, your going to shut down on 250 a week so go with the 500.

Still worth the discussion as I still believe too many people default to 500mg / week as a standard practice with no real reasoning other than you're going to shut down your HPTA.

Using that methodology you might as well say "you're going to shut down your axis dude, might as well smack a grand or two a week", backed up by "it works for Ronnie bro" :pfft:

As I mentioned in an earlier thread I recently spoke to an International Pro Strongman competitor based in the US & asked him what guys were using to compete at international level. He mentioned some of the extreme cases but said a lot of the guys were very moderate and that he only used 250mg p/w except when close to competition when he added 30mg/day dianabol (and he was one big unit with more muscle than 99% of BBers/PLers/SM in NZL).

As MuscleNZ mentioned 250mg is around 3 times TRT doses (from what I understand TRT practice aims to give approx 25 y.o T levels and 250mg is administered every three weeks). I remember how well I could grow naturally at 25 years old - surely training with three times this testosterone would be beneficial for a first time user trying to get solid gains without too many side effects.

Worth considering.......

The resident chemical expert over on Rxmuscle, Heavyiron, has put together a pretty good thread over there comparing 300mg to 600mg and the results on strength, fat-free muscle mass etc. I think there is another study abstract also showing 125mg too. He always uses studies to back up real world experiences and seems to know his stuff.

There are quite a few related studies and abstracts posted, along with a pretty well planned out sample cycle and PCT also for those wanting an interesting read.

I think you're right, Nate, based on the studies and experiences of others, 250mg should definitely bring decent results for a first cycle, although not as much as 500mg. Like you've said though, side effects may be reduced at the lower dose.

It's interesting how TRT gets prescribed in the US, while not the majority, there seem to be plenty of people whose TRT docs have put them on a weekly dose of between 200mg and 300mg a week, well above what's considered normal here. I think these docs are going for the maximum normal range of total test of around perhaps 1100 ng/dl as opposed to the middle healthy range of maybe around half that.

Thats about 38 nmol/L on the international scale they use in NZ just in case some thought their Test was a bit low
