Hi Everybody,

Well lets get the virgin post out of the way, Im another long time reader first time poster and thought I should stop hiding in the shadows and start giving my interwebby opinions as well.

I started lifting about 9 months ago after being bugged by the GF for ages (shes been quite the gym bunny for years). Originally started to train for mountain biking (race the DH national series in the summer) the theory was that a little more muscle mass couldnt hurt when wrestling the bike around.

But as my strength grew along with the numbers on the scales I well and truly caught “the bug”, racing is still the focus but mass building is becoming quite the nice little obsession.

The true newbie gains were fun but now I feel it slowing and Im having to mix it up a bit more where diet and training are concerned. Those initial gains have got me from 68.5 kg when I started to 80 kg today (first time Ive seen the 80s on the scales for a couple of years) unfortunately I didn’t get a fat % when I first started but Im 17 % now and I estimate I was probably 1-2 % lower BF back then so luckily overall Ive been able to keep the fat monster at bay (Im 173cm tall to put it in perspective).

Well that’s plenty for now,

“Mr_Krabs”

Hey guys thanks for the welcome :P

Yeah I definately noticed the extra weight when I was doing my uphill training rides (was noticeable after about +5kg), I think all the strengh training has zapped a bit of my endurance but closer to the season Ill do some high rep and lactic acid resistance work to try and remedy that.

And yeah not to keen on the ol "Bush fire" remedy haha

Ill post up some diet and training soon
