WNBF Gold Coast - How did you go Sportsmodel?

Recommended Posts

Sounds like a bumper show.

After the ANB show that was on at a near by venue the day before and attracted 130 competitors, the WNBF road-show hit the ground running with a total of 42 competitors, but many of them were double ups and triple ups.

I have marked all the competitors who doubled up or tripled up in bold italics so as you don't have to find them yourself as I know what a lazy cow you are.

I'm told by numerous people that the show was slow and boring with too many unnecessary comparisons and having to watch the same competitors on stage over and over again.

As per usual the classes were pretty much made up of 2 or 3 competitors guaranteeing that everyone wins a trophy.

No "paper titles" here!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks as though two Women's Physique competitors also went in the Masters Figure as well?

What the hell, trophies are hard to get these days, might as well get as many as you can hey?

I would certainly be interested on your take of the show.

It sounded pretty much like I said it would be, so any light that you can shed on my brief overview would be appreciated.

Gee, over 50 hits and not one reply?

What happened to all of those people who bagged the f*ck out of me - cat got your tongue?

NO Mr Fitness class WTF!!! :D ....

I'm with you Outlaw ..... sounds like a tupperware party. (Federation obviously owns a trophy factory)

However I do know Jacqui P and she is a quality figure athlete. Very impressive in her first show and not afraid to lift heavy. It's a shame the numbers didn't stack up for the other athletes as they were all probably at their best.

It's lucky that some of the Kiwi's decided to butter up after the ANB comp and do this show otherwise Danny would have had 8 less competitors, (5 really if you don't count competing twice, but Danny counts competitors who compete twice), so therefore the Kiwis made up for around 1/4 of the competitors.

I will concede one thing, my prediction that everyone receives a trophy proved to be incorrect.

There were in fact three competitors who missed out on getting a trophy, so I do apologise for misleading all of you.

Obviously this was an extremely high standard show with some competitors missing out on getting a place.

You guys obviously came up against some of Australia's best athlete's and will no doubt treasure the hard-earned trophies that you won.

Straight to the pool-room with these trophies.

haha good call Outlaw im with you all the way  WNBF is dead get rid of it i say, so they step on2 a real stage and earn ther way to the top  i mean cum on a show with 24 ppl competing haha

You know the sad part is, this was a pretty good show by WNBF standards.

After 200+ hits and still no reply from any WNBF supporters it is obvious that they have been embarrassed by the substandard show that was accurately predicted months ago by yours truly.

All the carry-on about me having a vendetta against Danny by those who thought they knew everything.

They have now been forced to face reality - WNBF shows in Australia are crap.

No apology is necessary Sportsmodel - your silence is apology enough.

Well, while we (or should I say I), are on the subject of WNBF shows, here's the results from their recent All Female show in the Northern Territory.

Best Body Swimsuit

1. Amber Walker

2. Jessica Crane

Ms Fit Body

1. Vick O'Rouke

2. Louise Simonetto

Womens Fitness & USA Figure

1. Britt Bailey-Kerber

Womens Bodybuilding

1. Jo Connolly

2. Emma Hilton

Don't keep scrolling down looking for the rest of the competitors - this is it! Seven competitors in total.

At least there were no double-ups at this show.

I have not heard how long the show went for or how many people attended.

No sign of Sportsmodel yet I suppose???

You couldn't shut her up a while ago.

Is the lack of female competitors a general thing in Oz, or just within the WNBF??

I don't know how they can put on a show with that few numbers, they must be losing money big time.

Nup, its just a WNBF thing.

Tony Lanciano will have his All Female show early next month and he will get somewhere between 50-60 girls.

I'm not sure why they went ahead with the show either?

You'd have thought that they would've had a rough idea that the numbers weren't there earlier on.

It's an awkward situation.

The Northern Territory is a long way away from anywhere else so it's not like they could cancel the show and the competitors could compete at a nearby show instead.

I'm told that the promoter will not be promoting WNBF shows again.

By the looks of things he will not be on his own, WNBF will be lucky to get any shows off the ground the way they are going.

Forgot about it being in NT, that would explain the lack of numbers given the lower population up there.

Seems odd that they'd even try to have a women's only show instead of the usual show with men & women.

Oh well, good luck to them :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Funny enough, I don't have an opinion on the show because I didn't attend the show. Unlike some people, I only comment on the shows I actually attend as a spectator or compete in

Sorry I didn't get to your little thread in time, I've been busy moving country and getting settled in

Ahhhh, I see.

This was quite convenient considering it was such a shit show.

So will you be gracing the WNBF stage sometime in the future then?
