Always the same old questions huh....You need to surf the forums a bit and you will find the answers to these and most other questions before you've even thought of asking them.

I was tempted to say train forever when I first read your post - it takes along time to build quality muscle without the fat - I have been training nearly 11 years...

Heya Msimo and welcome...

You'll find a lot of good advice under the Resources tab at the top of the page.

In the meantime, can you give us a few clues to "help us help you" ?

For example, how often do you currently go to the gym, and what do you do when you're there? and

What's your current diet and stats (age/ height/ weight) ?

Thanks for the replies..yeah was a pretty generic question aye just dont know where to start...I have been doing weights for years but not for the purpose of body building..was for my sport so im not a newbie in that regard...The nutrition/supplement side has me stumped and maybe I need to get a trainier to help with that..at the moment I eat what ever the wife cooks, I have elite protein for breakfast and dont generally eat lunch (i find it hard to eat lunch)

I go to they gym 3 times a week do cardio everytime

Im 28, 172cm and weigh 96kgs

Thanks didnt see the resources tab thats a big help and will search the forums too

Hey man, good to hear another one has decided to get into the wonderful sport of body scultping/bodybuilding etc.

We have similar body stats although I have gone down from 91kg to 87.5, I'm still new to this myself but from what you said you want to build muscle and lose the fat around ya tummy, currently I'm doing 30-40 mins of cardio 3x a week and resitance training 4-5 times a week in the evening, eating 6 - 7 meals a day and only taking whey protein, creatine and multi vitamin as my supplements, like the others said you can find good info on here and other sites like bodybuilding.com.

I recommend checking out other people's journals here to see how they are approaching their workouts etc and you'll also come across what some people are eating, you may find at first some of the foods you convince your self to eat can get a bit boring but if ya stick at it mate, you'll definitely get results, I started looking at it serious at the beginning of March 09 but had been gymin it for 2 years prior, trust me it takes a long time like deep_south said but it'll make ya healthier, happier and the Mrs will love ya for it. :)

hey mate, good to see another newbie here.

I would recommend looking at the workout journals on here and get as many different sources of advice and info as you can. there's ALOT of conflicting info out there in this sport from "credible" people. I'm just going with the basics for now of good diet, intensity of work outs and good rest periods.

I noticed though you said you don't eat lunch :naughty: you HAVE to get enough in you to get enough out of you! ya know?

the "other" MOST important thing would have to be to, stay committed! choose your goals and stick with them.

Good luck
