The rumours are true; Dallas Morning News are stating that eight time Mr Olympia Ronnie Coleman has been arrested and charged with falsely identifying himself as a police officer.

After being stopped for speeding by a policeman on Friday May 22 in Dalworthington Gardens, Texas, Coleman produced a police badge and claimed to also be a police officer.

Police Sgt. David Henderson said Coleman a records check indicated that he hadn’t been a licensed officer since 2003. Ronnie Coleman, who was previously a police officer and professes to be a devout Christian, posted bail Friday and was released from jail.

According to Legalmatch.com:

Depending on state law, impersonating a police officer may be considered either a felony or a misdemeanor. Punishments for impersonating a police officer include:

* Imprisonment up to five years (sometimes more)

* Fines (usually $1000 or more)

* Probation

* Permanent criminal record
