Whats the deal with this show?

Have to be a member to compete and no CP in CHCH :?

Is a good show used as a spring board into a graded regional. Its not sanction by any fed but it is well supported as it is about getting everyone together to have a fun go at competing. Everyone gets a medal on the day and the family atmosphere in the crowd is really cool.

Has novice and open division classes similarly structured to NZFBB.

Good fun!

Quite a small show this year, but MC and event organiser Timi is a master of making a little go a long way. :P

Some really impressive physiques on stage. Guest posers were Tony Ligaliga and Jo Stewart. As always, Tony's routine was fantastic (although he never stopped long enough for my poor camera to get the shot!), and as for Jo - well, see for yourself! :shock:

Yes - some good physiques and great to see a number of newbies having a go for the first time. e.i the novice woman competitor who trained under Jo Stewart (Marion) - lost over 20kg and trained 12 months for the show. great inspiration there.

Thought Timi handled the MC very well - made the crowd and competitors laugh which puts the first timers at ease.

Hopefully it gets a few more in show next year as it is a great platform for those wanting to just experience whats it like to get on stage without the pressure of a graded show.

They gave a medal to all competitors last year with a focus for doing the same this year. (1st 2nd and 4 3rds type thing).

Prizes were great > large tub of icewhey for the division winners and heaps of bars/shirts and bags from suppliers. :clap:

Gaspari / Horleys & Balance in supprt > saw a few PVL bags in there too.

Judges included Tarryn McCall, Chad Dell and a very lean (as always) Jamie Cameron. (Naera johnson new chairman of the club working hard behind the scenes)

Great support offered by these guys and the guest posers in getting behind the show.

Thought Pseu could have entered with his bbnz t-shirt on :pfft: ... got lots of positive comments :nod:

Yes is an exellent show for first time competitors.All my clients that have wanted to compete over the years I have allways had them compete in CP as there first show. You dont have to be a member of a club physical to enter as they are allways looking for more competitors. Its just called the club physical champs as is run by the club physical bodybuilding committee.

i never knew that!! ---

Saw Paul in the club the day before - asked if I was going to step up this year :pfft: Been a member for over 15 years and never gone in it! My brother Drew used to do the Top shape shows many years ago so I guess I need to at least do one CP show.
