Time to renovate

Heya - just thought I'd drop in a quick intro: IT geek for the last decade. Figured a while ago it was time to make some changes... Been using home fixed machine for a while, started getting some results so I ended up joining a gym about 6 months ago. Now I'm 4x a week, mainly strength training on free weights. I like the philosophy and some of the ideas put forward by mehdi over at stronglifts.com, but I'm following some routines set by a couple of PTs, not the 5x5 routine.

I'm finding that the change in my body is pretty extraordinary and I'm excited at discovering something new about myself, and feeling like I'm in charge of what sort of a body I make for myself and not just beholden to whatever genes have been dished out to me.

Anyhow, might see you all around :)

there's great motivation in seeing someone with a better physique than you (the bastard!) :D

So very true. I try not to pay too much attention to what others are doing/where they're at with physique etc, but occasionally you can't help but think: "bloody hell - how'd he lift that?!?"
