22" arms... ok i'll be happy with 20"

But seriously what motivates me are the goals i set for myself, the mental picture that i have makes me work hard towards becoming that.

I keep reminding myself of it everyday, several times a day.

I let every one around me know of my goals, I tell them what im gonna be doing and achieving in the next few weeks, months etc, that way I know im gonna have to deliver, cause i hate not honoring my word...

Cool, but im the opposite, i feel when I tell ppl my plans things go wrong, so it's better to keep it to myself, that's why I don't have a journal on here - yet! I might some time soon.

By the way that's a funny profile photo :pfft:

I am motivated by the ladies who love muscular bodies and want to touch and feel :D ooooh luverly!!!

It makes me feel good to have a really intense workout.

Really pumping music too, gets me going.

You need goals though. Picture what you want and go for it.

Once you are at the gym its easy....

If that fails just neck shit loads of red bull!!!

It's 'my time'. I find it a mental break from the rest of my day. Kind of like an odd kind of meditation - brain relaxes, body ends up shattered (but that's all good). This mindset gets me there everyday, even when it's cold and dark (I train before work)

Well you need to know what it is your trying to achieve. Jst going to the gym or eating clean etc without a clear purpose is pointless and eventually you will give up. So figure out what it is your trying to achieve, be it get bigger, stronger, lean, fit, bench 100kg what ever. But you need a purpose and goal for the time, effort and money involved. Once you have that get a pen, write it down. Then figure out how you are going to achieve that, give your self a time frame and once time has passed evaluate your progress and change your actions accordingly. Anyway thats what i do. U need to figure out for yourself what you want to achieve and no one here can tell you that, there are plently of smart cookies who can help you get where you wont though.

P.S

I dream of having legs like bobsta and im not sure i would even wear pants if i possesd wheels like that. Damn near blockin the sun.

all very good reasons above

I have the Grecian ideal of a guys bod in my mind and am working towards that.

When I look at areas to 'bring up to speed' it's based around achieving that look. So for me with 8" wrists the Grecian ideal says 20" arms, 28" legs and so on....

Although it looks like I am just trying to get big....I am just trying to reach these goals, and then I'll need another goal.

Interesting on the form of the body the Greek's idolized. If thats what you mean by 'grecian'? I'm sure it is. I've done lots of reading about ancient greece its an interesting topic to me. Not sure the relavence but it would be interesting to see how many had that form, and what they used to get there, their diet, training and that kind of thing. No supps just diet I imagine not alot of variety. Clean I guess

In need of some inspiration.

what motivates you to go to the GYM?

I basically have a picture of what I want to look like. I use that whenever I work out and it makes me go that extra mile. I used to hate cardio, but now I use that time to 'get away' and have it as my own time (while picturing that bod too!).

Also, as lame as it sounds, I want people to say, "damn! She has an awesome body".

It's still a while away, but I feel like I'm getting closer each week.

that's pretty much my major goal. according to the model, with my 7" wrists i should have 18" arms yet i'm a bit taller than you android (2 inches i think) so i'll look a bit less proportional if/when i achieve the ideal which i don't get, shouldn't height be a factor in there as well? or maybe my smaller bone structure will compensate? dunno ay

other than that goal, gym just keeps me going from day to day. if i have a shit day at uni and my tutors giv me shit i'll just smash it out in the gym.

Following the Grecian ideal came from this dude Sandow, maybe the father of modern bodybuilding? and he went around measuring roman statues before coming up with calculations that he published in a book.

You're right it doesn't take into account height, like my wrists are 7 and 1/2" but I added 1/2" to allow me to be a bit bigger, it's all up to interpretation and Sandow did it for himself I believe he just stated what he thought the ideal was from what he saw he liked in the roman statues...if he had seen "Venus de Milo" I don't think he woulkd have chopped off both his arms to look like just that :-)
