All the strategies below include chest/back/private areas...

Used to shave, then

Used to use cream, then

Used to use depilator (braun IIRC)

Now getting laser.

Currently doing coolglide for most of back/chest, and IPL for private areas. This is mainly because of the different types of hair on these parts. The coolglide is doing a good job of the thick coarse black hairs, and the IPL is good for the more lightweight vellous hair at, eg, the base/small of the back.

I've had four sessions now, the hair is definitely much reduced. I've probably got another two or three 'til it's down to the level that I want (virtually all gone - shaved look).

Nick,I got 2 sessions on my throat/neck as I was getting ingrowns there and would cut the crap out of my throat each time I shaved. It didnt take all the hair away, but it got rid of the worst of them, now I can shave without having to put 6 or 7 pieces otff tissue paper on bleeding cuts LOL.

So for me, definately worth it. Note best results are for pale skin and dark hair, so blond or red haired will have mixed results.

$500/session - it's a couple hours at a pop. Not cheap, but I am 100% committed, having used other strategies (see above :) for years and I'm happy with the look. I tend to have quite deeply-rooted hairs and thick strong skin, which means that I am *very* prone to getting the ingrown hairs from hell whether I depilate or shave. Lasers obviates that completely.

Only just recently started deadlifting (well, haven't been squatting that long either - about 5 months from scratch). I have an historical problem with RSI in my left arm, so grip on the DL is somewhat of a problem. My hand gives out long before my back wants to round or legs fail :(

However, I am finding that it is increasing quite rapidly in strength, so I'm hoping to get to 100 x10 x3 in the next 6 - 8 weeks or so.
