hi mate

theres a fair bit of bread in your diet

i personally would change the meals 2,3,4,5

remove the bread and try brown rice or baked potatoes or pasta as your carb source

cook the rice the night before or bake enough potatoes to get you through the next day

what you need to do is try out something for a couple of months and stick to it.

if you take someones advice give it time to work before trying something different and remember what works for some people may not be the best for you

Hmmmm Potatoes

On a Sunday I peel a shit load of potatoes, kumara, pumpkin and parsnip to last the whole week then chop em all up and seal them in a container full of water and pop into the fridge, then every night I take out enough to fan grill in the oven, lil bit of olive oil and sometimes the steak gets done on the element at the same time, if you love it, you'll do it.

The wonderful world of food, glorious food.

(damn those love handles)

From my experience I wouldnt let your body fat go higher than 12% for bulking. Just cant find any evidence stating that you'll be in a higher catabolic state beyond that %. doesnt directly answer your question tho. just my personal opinion tis all..

what has bodyfat got to do with it? its about being above maintanance level calories.. some people will put on more fat then others due to body type..

by the way i dont think you are eating enough carbs to bulk effectivley

try take in the info in this article and apply it to your application

more carbs mate - and cleaner ones. heres what i ate yesterday, im 82kg, bf% bout20-23, have been putting on about 500g/week. only do 3 20min cardios a week.

M1 cup(100g) oats, 1.5serves p.p, raw in water

M2 4 whole boiled eggs, mashed/mayo on 3 piece brown bread(mmm)

m3 1 heaped cup rice, 180g tuna, mayo

m4 2cups oats,1.5serves p.p

m5 1 heaped cup rice, 200g steak

postworkout is a 600cal mass shake

m6 1 cup rice, 200g steak

m7 2 pieces brown toast, with p/butter,+ watties big eat.

and i dont even like rice!

its alot of food, but it is NECESSARY to grow. and compared to the big boys, i eat f*ck all! its only my first bulk though.

FYI, as regards to bf%, i started this bulk above 14%, its not gonna hinder you at all. the reason i chose to bulk instead of cut first is because the more lean muscle you have, the more fat your body will burn. Thus its easier to adjust your body composition if you increase your LBM.

Make yourself up a sample diet, and as the others have said stick with it for at least a month. take a couple of girth measurements first, be easier to track your progress - actual bodyweight can be very misleading. Water retention, losing fat, gaining muscle, losing muscle etc alot of variables.

Hope this helps

yea that helps alot thanks

now i just need to know what type of rice is best :P im going shopping tonight for food so im guessing it would be brown rice?

and 1cup with huge tin of tuna is enough protein and carbs?

im no scientist, but for an overall gi/nutrients p.o.v, i have ben using basmati up till now. ive just switched to long grain white, but to be completely honest i see no good reason not to just use basmati - i only changed cos apparently white is more nutrient dense.

i just cook enough for 4 days at a time, dont cook everyday!
