Just like what Deepsouth says everyone starts being small.Eventualy you will be big it wont happen overnight it takes time by lifting heavy ass weights ,training hard and eating well also getting plenty of rest as well.

take a bit of time to go and intrduce urself to them, ul fing out soon enuff if they are full of themselves of weather they are laxed as and willing to offer advice etc. i never miss a chance to introduce mself to someone that looks like they know what there doing, it's a great way to learn and get a second opinion/tips/tricks etc ,and even make a new friend or spotter atleast. :)

Who do you go there for brother? Them or you? You'll be ok once you get into the right frame of mind about it and perhaps even say gidday to them now and then so you're not put of by seeing them, turn it around mate.

POSING to you might be PRACTICING for them or being PROUD of what they've achieved by noticing results. Hey, most do it at home and are proud of the results they're seeing and some do it at the gym. NO one uses ALL the weights at the same time unless it's a small gym or close to comp time and you see loads of big boys in there. Do what we do, instead of waiting around, either try another machine and somethng new or just say 'CAN I WORKIN WITH YOU MATE' that way you get to use the machine in their rest between sets time. It only works against you if you let it

Good advice BJ.

You can either shut out the distractions or use the big guys as motivation.

As BJ suggested if ask to work in with guys, most experienced ones wont have a problem with this (they were there once to).

This is a good chance to learn, get a spot in,and return the favour, try forced reps etc and goes along way to improving your physique, strength, networking, heck you might get a training partner or two out of it which is great and can be very productive.

Once you start showing results, guys smaller/less built than you will start watching you train looking to pick up pointers or emulate what you do. Remember theres always some bigger/more cut and theres always someone smaller/less cut.

Once you start getting bigger alot of the big guys will notice this and some may acknowledge your success and effort, this can be real motivating. The key is live the lifestyle(hard/smart training, clean calories, sleep/rest and time).

Consistant hard work on all these areas brings results. Good Luck.

It used to intimidate me too when i first set foot in a gym but then i realized like everyone has said - that EVERYONE started out somewhere - if a woman pushed out a muscle bound baby you'd have heard about it on the news! :shock:

It gives you something to work towards :grin:

Oh yeah and most of the huge guys don't feel much more comfortable about their size than the smaller chaps. They aren't admiring their bodies in the mirror they are freaking out about how small they are or how fat they are, I need to gain 10kgs more size, my quads are too small, my bi's need a bigger peak, worse than women, truely. Correct me if I'm wrong but I would love to hear from people on here that look in the mirror and say OMG I'm huge, I'm just perfect :pfft: Does this person exist? :-s

Nope that person doesn't exists if they do they shouldn't be in the gym :lol:
